Hello,

I just went to Walmart and they had a HUGE sale and bought all the tackle in the picture for only $70. Was it a good deal?

I was also wondering how I should use the Strike King Burner Spinnerbait? Should I throw it near cover? I also have a question on the buzzbait, where should I fish it?

Thanks,

Martin

Not a good deal if you spent more than you might have otherwise for the stuff you will use.  If you got more than $70 in value TO YOU, it was a good deal.

Regardless, you can probably sell what you don't want for nearly $70, so celebrate.

Looks like you got a nice haul for $70!

As for the Strike King burner spinnerbaits, they have smaller sized blades so they are designed to fish a little bit faster than your standard dual willow blade spinnerbaits. They're particularly good towards the end of the summer and fall when the bass will start chasing faster moving baits.

As for the buzzbaits, you can fish them year round, but they are most effective post spawn. Black ones are quite effective at night, and white or white/chart for dawn. If you are getting short striked, try changing colors. As to where to fish it, generally in shallow water where you might fish a crank or spinnerbait is a good bet. I will often fish them when I have rocky bottoms where a spinnerbait might get snagged between rocks, which saves me from snagging. Try running one over shallow grass or along docks as well.

You're gonna love catching smallies in NH on those spinnerbaits. Between the jigs you rigged and the haul you have here, you got a nice making of a tackle box.

Get out and make some memories for yourself...When you finally ice out that is.

Good luck bud!

You will find that spinnerbaits and buzzbaits are pretty snagless . Dont just throw them near cover , throw them in and over it  . You can jump logs with both lures . The hook rides up and the long arm on the spinnerbaits helps to deflect snags .Throw the two lures in the same places . Last season,  I'm guessing 3/4 of the bass I caught were on those two lures .

I just realized he's from New Hampshire. I never fish in New Hampshire, but I fish in Vermont and for some reason as soon as I cross the Vermont border, they absolutely hammer spinnerbaits up in Vermont.

ive caught nice bass on those burner spinner baits including my pb. one of those times i was reeling it in as fast as i could. sometimes fishing a spinner bait too slow ive noticed that the fish take a real good look at it then not strike.

Love how the burners come though weeds and at their price point I'm a lot less apprehensive about where I'll throw them.
