For weightless senkos, the first gen DX743 or the current DXHP 742c. The new HP's are a faster blank.

Lots of people like the gen 1 XX EMTF for senkos. The new models have a slower action.

Never used the ALX zolo dream.

Do you have open banks? The EMTF is long. I have the G1 Orochi EMTF and love it, but I can't fish it in a lot of places because it's 7'5". I mainly use it when I'm on a boat. The G2 EMTF is more parabolic, it may be better for moving baits.

Consider the Tatula Elite 7' AGS M/MH Ehrler, it can cast a senko a mile. I also have been throwing 1/16oz + TRD's on it a good distance too. SV reel with super light brakes though.

I can't put a shimano reel on a diawa rod lol. Maybe the dx703 would be a good compromise?

X2 on the Tat Elite Ehrler for Senkos... tough to beat.  You can always trade your Shimano in at American Legacy Fishing ;)

I just can't bring myself to do that, as I am in love with my new chronarch MGL...

Do you think it is better to invest in a few nicer setups than a bunch of decent ones?  I just picked up a chronarch and champ 734 for my all-purpose medium-heavy, now I am trying to get my all purpose medium squared away.

Invest in the better setups.  I have a lot of setups.  I would much prefer to only have about 10 good ones.  Maybe I should qualify that statement.  Decent is okay.  Just be satisfied with what you have.  Make sure...as best you can from reviews and opinions given on sites like this...that the rod does what you want it to and with enough sensitivity for its intended uses.  Believe me when I say it is easy to get caught up with the idea that you think you have to have a rod or two from the current favorite line of rods.  Whether they be $110 rods or $350 rods.

Just take a gander at my basement.  If I had the money back that I've spent on rods, I could have 10 Megabass, Witch Doctor, etc. rods and probably still have money left over.  Then I wouldn't be standing there debating on which rods to take out this time.  :dontknow:

100% agree.  If you select rods with an eye towards versatility you can cover an amazing range of presentations with just a couple high-end rods with no sacrifice in performance.

I am in the process of trying to narrow down my collection to fewer, but more high-end setups. I am having a hard time getting rid of anything though. I am attached to my equipment and I justify holding on to it.

I have lost a lot of money selling lower end equipment I diddn't end up using/liking over the last year. Not willing to do it again.  With that in mind, the ZOLO is probably a better option  for the versitility.

I've given away a couple items, but have never been able to make myself sell any.  :(

Losing a lot of $$$ is another reason I don't sell anything.  Versatility is why I chose the 2 ALX rods I have.  Would love to have the Dream, Maestro and Twitch.
