928JLH Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 Gotta say impressed so far. Easiest break in I've ever had and super comfortable. More comfortable than the Redwings I've had. Not a bad lower cost boot. 1 Quote
FordsnFishin Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 Some of my brothers wear them and like them. I've always worn redwings. My last pair, which are slip ons have been my favorite. That being said, I've actually started wearing keens mid tops, and I'll never go back. The amount of comfort these offer is amazing. An I can buy my steel toe leather pair I like for $100. Whole lot cheaper than my redwings ever were. 1 Quote

Super User slonezp Posted March 16, 2019 Super User Posted March 16, 2019 I'm a Redwing fan myself. Never heard of Thorogood. Regardless, a good pair of work boots is a good pair of work boots. 1 Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted March 16, 2019 Super User Posted March 16, 2019 Before I retired I used to buy Wolverine boots. They were very comfortable but after about a year the soles would split on them and had to be replaced even if they were in good shape otherwise. I finally switched to Timberland. Also very comfortable and held up better. 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted March 16, 2019 Super User Posted March 16, 2019 Wore a couple of pair of Danner Acadia boots (insulated & uninsulated) on the job for many years. Always did me right. It was all about the 'spit shine'. A-Jay 2 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted March 19, 2019 Super User Posted March 19, 2019 I have used Wolverine boots for years. The first pair was the best , the pair I have now is the worst, they are the least comfortable, and already wearing on the heels pretty bad , and they arent even 8 months old yet. Quality seems to be dropping. 1 Quote

Usually with American products if it wasn't made Monday morning or Friday afternoon you are good to go. Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted March 20, 2019 Global Moderator Posted March 20, 2019 MY favorite are waterproof leather Wellington style boots. I’ve had a couple different brands and ruined them pretty quickly on roofs though. Does thorogood make any without laces? I hate paying high dollar for boots that I quickly ruin 1 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted March 21, 2019 Super User Posted March 21, 2019 Those really look comfortable. I'm currently wearing Timberland but when our weather gets wet and cold I opt for these: @TnRiver46, these would be good for you down at the lake house. Especially the way you do construction... ... Which I admire BTW! Quote

Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted March 21, 2019 Global Moderator Posted March 21, 2019 All the mink oil in the world won’t help this! I’ve already sent them back and had them repaired and resoled once. Then they did away with the lifetime guarantee Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted March 21, 2019 Super User Posted March 21, 2019 OMG! So what now, back to the sandals?!? Quote
