I like the Curado K body over the Tatula, but the MagforceZ braking is all external and easier to dial-in IMO. Both are very very good reels, but if I was putting this on a rod where I would be swapping lures with varying weights a lot, I'd go with the Tatula. If my lures would be all around the same weight and I didn't have to futz around with the internal brakes a lot, the Curado.

Also, what rod is the reel going on?  Heaven knows you can't put a Daiwa on a Shimano rod, and vice versa or bad things start to happen to you.

how good is the t wing line guide

Negligible in my experience. It may help on thicker diameter lines, but I cast both reels far enough out it doesn't make a noticeable difference. If you use a leader knot, it may not pass through the T-Wing, depending on the knot and thickness of the line.

I have both. The Daiwa 150 is a touch over 8oz and has a larger frame. It's a fantastic reel. It casts great and is super smooth when reeling. Barely ever backlashes even with wind around. It has a large line capacity too, if that's something you need.

The Curado has a more connected feel but isn't better. Both are excellent reels. I have three Curado K's two in the 6 speed and one in the 7 speed. The 7 speed is not as smooth reeling as the  6 speed, the gearing just feels rougher.

I like Daiwas braking system better and they are a lot easier to dial in than my Shimanos

I enjoy casting the 150. Its consistent and works. Not mind blowing distance, but good.  It's a pretty clear line when reducing the braking when to quit.

I love everything about the K but the casting. Too heavy of a spool with the newer braking for my tastes. Classic case of trying to fix something that wasnt broken. Having used a few others in the line up w/lighter spools and the same infinity brakes, I liked them alot better than K.

The tatula is def easier to setup and casts a little further than a curado. Overall I prefer the curado though, it’s smoother and just feels more durable in hand. Both are fantastic reels though

This. I love my tatulas but I'm also a braid to leader guy and it can be an issue with larger lines having the leader knot hang up on the way back into the reel. I'm hoping some day they'll re-design it or offer a different version that has wider entry angles to account for this. But I love the Magforce braking system so I still buy them.

The 100 is not as nice a reel as the 150 imo. I returned my Tatula 100 and bought another 150.

As already stated for me the tatula is easier to just set and forget but the k has other advantages.  I like the ergonomics of the k a lot better and to me it feels a little smoother. If I had to pick one it would be the k but they're both excellent reels.

If you want to try a Daiwa then get the new Tatula Elite Long Cast.  The Tatula 150 is just an older gen Tatula  being re-released as a new product.

What is the story here. I don’t know the older model but it doesn’t make any sense to me. The 150 is a tank of a reel, I doubt they just changed the name and rereleased it 6 years later.

It's exactly what they did.
