I use the Loctite Gel Super Glue, works great, has a small applicator that fits in the hole and is much easier than 2 part epoxy.

Is it ok to use a 2 part epoxy for gluing weedguards on jigs?

Yes it is OK. I use Devcon 2 Ton 30 minute epoxy. I personally like it better than Loctite gel Super glue. But either will do depends on what you are doing.

Clean out the hole really good from the old glue. If you have Loctite-gel super glue, use that and let it dry for a day. You have a PM.

I used to use Devcon 2-Ton which i had bc of my crankbait painting but i have recently switched to the Loctite Super Glue Gel. Make sure you have cleaned out the weedguard hole as Cadman said. An 1/8 inch drill bit works well.

Devcon 2 ton works best but unless you are mixing up a batch to do a lot of jigs I use the Super Glue Gel like everyone else. I have never had a gel weedguard pull out in like 8 years of using it.

I used some Gorilla two part epoxy.  Tested it with pliers and seems to hold very well.

I've found a really good alternative.  Harbor Freight sells super glue gel.  I had some on hand the other day and thought I'd give it a try.  I glued in a couple weed-guards, waited a day and tested them with pliers.  I couldn't pull the guards out with the pliers, even to the point of destroying the guards themselves.  It's inexpensive and works great.  You get ten tubes for $3.74.  I just squeeze a small amount onto a paper plate, dip the guard in the glue and insert it into the jig-head.  It's not messy like regular super glue.

The Loctite Gel above works well but I've recently been tinkering with E6000 and I like that also.  Takes some practice getting the right amount applied to the guard before inserting it.  Tried the epoxy also, but definitely get 30 minute cure. The 5 minute will be frustrating if you plan to do many baits, as I found out.
