=Matt 5.0= Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Just curious how the transaction was. How long can you finance a boat for etc? Looking at possibly getting a 175 TXW in the next 18 months or so. Thanx for the info. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted May 7, 2008 Super User Posted May 7, 2008 I would advise buying from a Tracker dealer and not BPS themselves. Quote
brgbassmaster Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 i never bought one from bps but i do have a bass tracker pro 17 i love the boat havent had any problems yet ( knock on wood) so i think you are making a good decision. oh and i can go two days driving all around this 36,000 acre lake on a 6 gallon tank. havent had to touch the other tank yet, but i also only have a 40horse power. masssilversrt4 Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Funny that you ask this.. After fishing on Mike's boat I fell in love with the bass type boat fishing and have been looking for some on craigs list.. There are some out there but most are far away NH etc and most want a arm and a leg. I found a Dealer in Freetown/Lakeville area so I may go visit them. Also it looks like BassPro boats come with some additional features/add ons (extra fish finder and such). Wonder if we can get a 2 for special.. Quote
SnowBass23 Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 I have. I just bought a Pro Team 175TXW from the Bass Pro in Prattville, AL. Before I settled on buying out of BPS I had looked at several boat dealers. Everything from Mom&Pop Shops to much larger dealerships. I personally prefer the BPS route myself. Tracker sets the prices sop you don't have to worr yabout haggling prices. Just go to the tracker site, find the boat yo uwant, and it will give you the price, including dealer charges in your area. I prefer BPS because all of the other shops felt like car dealerships. No matter how much research I had done prior (which was ALOT! I have waited 4 years to buy) the dealers kept trying to push me off onto other brands and even used boats. Also, BPS does have the ability to add all the nice things, like the tackle boxes, coolers, Tracker hats, etc. The smaller dealers had trouble finding the items that tracker advertises as coming included with their boats. All in all BPS was the way for me. The price was the same, much greater inventory, and I didn't feel like I was buying from some used car salesman. Oh, I needed to add that the BPS actually has a Tracker center inside the store, so it is still like a dealership in that there are dedicated salesman and finance people. The payment options all depend on your credit and approval. I financed through my own bank and ended up only spending 13K with a 50 hp. Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted May 7, 2008 Author Posted May 7, 2008 Thanks Snow! I have been to BPS and they do have a Tracker center at the one closest to me. My son climbed into a 175 and he was refusing to get out! ;D Thanks for sharing, that's the info I was looking for. There is a Tracker dealer in New Hampshire, I was thinking of buying up there because there's no sales tax. However it's 80 miles away, where as BPS is only 25 miles from home. Quote
masssilversrt4 Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Matt I think If you register it in RI/MA you still have to pay the Sales tax so I don't think you'll gain anything by doing that.. (buying in NH) There is a place in Lakeville, MA that is a dealer just about as close as BPS.. http://www.captainbubsmarine.com/ Quote
rondef Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 I lke the tracker boat also and have planted the bug in my wife's ear that I may need to upgrade around January 2009. If I do I will be purchasing mine from BPS in Baltimore, MD. Quote

Super User Sam Posted May 8, 2008 Super User Posted May 8, 2008 When I bought my Silver Anniversary Tracker Pro Team 185 (had to say it like the NASCAR guys, sorry) my wife picked it out at a local dealer in Richmond. She wanted to make sure it was stable and would not turn over. I take the boat to both the BPS store in Hampton and Jerry Cooper near the new BPS south of Ashand for service. Jerry does a fantastic job with the boat and motor. He explains everything and treats you like a human being and you can talk to his mechanics and not some dumb "order taker" at BPS. It is also difficult to speak to the mechanic who did the work on your boat at BPS, too. You have to go into the shop area and try to find the individual. I have "souped" up my Tracker and have also added some great Lowrance electronics. In fact, my electronics are better than some of the Rangers, Bass Cats, Skeeters and Tritons in my bass club. PM me if you want to know what I have done. As for price, it was take it or leave it. We went to USAA for the boat loan and paid it off in two years. USAA has great interest rates but you have to be a USAA member via being an officer in the military or an NCO. Please shop your loan with some banks and credit unions and compare the interest rates, etc. with the boat dealer's plan. Trackers may not be big and beautiful nor can they go 100 miles per hour, but put us on a river and we can go where no other boats can go. Just be mindful of the tides. ;D Quote
Super User Tin Posted May 8, 2008 Super User Posted May 8, 2008 Matt call me, the guys who work at the BPS Foxboro are great and are better than any Nitro/Tracker dealer around. Quote
