schplurg Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 I use 14 pound mono but I probably don't know what I'm doing and have yet to get bit with a jerkbait I do wonder if it stretches too much for good action, or if I'm doing it hard enough for the amount of line in the water. I will try braid on this reel next. Quote
bassboy107 Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 I dont like braid for most treble baits. I stick with 12lb mono or fluoro Quote
Super User FryDog62 Posted March 9, 2019 Super User Posted March 9, 2019 I’ll use braid on my Lews Moderate/Fast jerkbait rod. Faster tip rods I use 10 lb YZH. Quote
Super User webertime Posted March 9, 2019 Super User Posted March 9, 2019 10lb Sunline Super Natural. Stuff is thin and tough. Quote
anderb54 Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 I use 20 lb braid as a mainline with either 10 lb fluoro or 11 lb Defier Armilo as a leader. I like that the Armilo floats, and it pulls double duty as a popper/walking bait rod when the temps come up Quote
NathanDLTH Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Depending on rod, but most of the time I’m running braid to leader with 12lb flouro on the end. Either Sunline or Seagur. Haven’t had a problem with straight braid either. Quote
KP Duty Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 I run Sunline sniper. 8lb for 3/8 and 10lb on 1/2oz. I have two spinning rods rigged accordingly. I have used Loomis 723 imx spin jig rods for years, but just picked up two new tatula spinning rods in 6'6", rated 1/8-3/4oz, and they have a really short rear grip. Really excited to use them. Quote
