Do a little bit of everything mentioned.

I prefer to keep items in original packing most of the time,  however plastics that are paired with something like chatterbaits, scroungers, jigs, ect have been moving into the plano box that holds them.

A plano weekender bag rides on deck filled with a single pack of each plastic that I intend on using, what is in it rotates by lake, season, gameplan.  Duplicates sorted by brand sorted in ziplocks and stored away.  At the end of a day anything low gets pulled out and consolidated with a new pack and replaced.  One day there will be a peg board in the garage, but currently everything not coming on trips is stored in boxes.

Bit of an elaztech connoisseur,  so they have their own weekender bag with the terminal tackle to go with.

All of this leads to the deck in shambles and everything needing reorganized after a day of fishing.

Some great answers here, but I'm just curious; Is there a reason why you wouldn't just remove from the original packaging and neatly sort and store in say Plano boxes?

I do keep some soft plastics is Plano boxes and that definitely works well.

Guess it's simply a personal preference to have the majority in the labeled gallon ziplock freezer bags and then placed in the milk crates.

Also, I think it's time to do a "how I store my rig" video - would love to post it and get some feedback.

Maybe this weekend.

I like this idea a lot. Looking at the 10 day forecast is giving me hope we’re turning that corner and I’ve been thinking a lot how I’m going to load my boat. I’ve watched a couple videos which have given me a few ideas. The more the merrier, looking forward to it.

OK -

When the ambient air temp in my Lund Cave (garage ?) gets up to a reasonable level to allow for somewhat pleasant video manuevers - I'll see what I can to.  An accurate & indepth documentation, including appropriate commentary, could get a little lengthy - so I'm not really into frozen stones . . .

Nobody had mentioned the Plano KVD speed bags yet?! These were a game changer last year for me in my boat. Kept me super organized and they don't take up the kind of room plastic bins do.

I have a ton of them now.

I keep them in the bag they come in or transplant them to zip lock bags . I dont keep them in boxes . I'll stuff the pockets of a tackle organizer with them and throw some in a small gear bag . I even use cloth grocery bags at times . I'm not very organized but I'll find what I want . Sometimes I'll just use the first bag I randomly pull out .

Bulk storage is a plastic drawer from Walmart stored in the hallway closet. Top drawer has hooks, line, and tools. Middle drawer is creature style baits and bottom drawer holds worms and Grubs.

Plano thin 3601 boxes and Plano double sided box for zman TRD, crawz, and tubez. These boxes work well for a fishing outing using either a backpack or shoulder bag, I switch between the two depending on the outing. Stock up the boxes as I need to. Way more than I would ever use in a single outing, but its nice to have variety on hand but the thin boxes keep me from bring too much with me.

Be careful with those Zman TRDs.  They don't play nice with other plastics...

That Plano box is strictly zman stuff. Would never mix them with other plastics, would not be good.

I've always kept them in the bags they come in. I put them in a large plastic tub, and take out various bags for fishing

Kept in their bags, sorted by type, and filed in Plano 3731 boxes:

This is what I do, but mine has horizontal dividers. 8 slots total.

I have everything in plano boxes.  I have hooks in one and jighead/swimbaits in one.  I use "bead boxes" from the Walmart craft section.  Divide plastics by type.  I have been working on this today, oddly enough.  I obviously should be on Zoom's Christmas card list.
