DoubleBarS Posted May 2, 2008 Author Posted May 2, 2008 Wow....it wasnt stable enough without the outriggers?Nice job on the boat though. It might be stable enough for a skinny fellow, but not for the "full size" guys like me. I'm fixing to upgrade the 4" PVC to 6", and I'm going to change the adjustment mechanism. I want to make it so they swing straight up, and don't have to be removed to launch and load on the trailer. But until I figure out a way to do this, it works great as is. Quote
_tyler_wright_ Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Good job on the boat man! I really like the trailer tires! Quote
fishinsteve Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Hey DoubleBarS, I think you posted your pics in the wrong thread...lol....no worries, I like the work you did... ;D Quote
DoubleBarS Posted May 2, 2008 Author Posted May 2, 2008 Good job on the boat man! I really like the trailer tires! Thanks. It's funny you mention the tires. They came off our old Jeep 4WD Renegade, and it just happened that the rims matched the axel hubs on the trailer I built. I have been meaning to get some smaller tires, but I think it looks kind of cool having big mud-grip tires on a boat trailer. Quote

Black Bass Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Nice job! Why spend the money on more tires? The ones you have give it character. Quote
Daiwa Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Fishinsteve. What motor are you using? DoublebarS. I love the tires. How hard were the PVC stabilizers to make? Looking at getting my own boat after getting a 20 hp Mercury today for free. Quote

Looking at getting my own boat after getting a 20 hp Mercury today for free. They took me a few hours to make. It's not hard as long as you know how to weld. I filled both of them with expanded foam, so I had to wait overnight for it to cure, but other than that it didn't take too long. It was all scrap metal I had around the shop. FishinSteve, I'm sorry for accidentaly taking over your thread. Quote
Daiwa Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Oh cool. Me and my dad are working on our 20 hp and maybe looking for a 14 footer to put it in. Quote
fishinsteve Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Hey Daiwa, Funny you mention that. I actually have a 20hp Johnson I'm putting on that bad boy. Just took it in this weekend for a tune up as a matter of fact. Thanks for thinkin of it though! DoublebarS, no worries, its getting a lot more people looking at the thread...LMAO Quote
