I’m looking for extra thick silicone jig skirts, meaning skirts with around 150 strands or more rather than 50. Does anyone know where to gets skirts like this?

If not, anyone know where to get the best deal on silicone skirting material to tie my own?

Skirt tabs are cheap, I buy mine at fishingskirts.com. You can make them with however many strands and in whatever colors you want.

BOSS Outdoors which I think is fishingskirts.com but you would have to purchase the material and make your own to get that strand count. Their colors and selection are very good, probably the best I've found anywhere.

(Or @J.Vincent) Do you know how many strands are in a tab? Or how many tabs are needed for a standard thickness skirt?

I think it's 22 strands per tab, 2-3 tabs per standard skirt. I got that from one of the videos on their "Learning Center" tab - Videos from the Pros. There's also a "Builds" tab that shows a bunch of examples.

I wish there was a store around me that stocked all this. I'd probably go hogwild buying stuff. The only store around here that carries it is expensive and has a very limited selection. I'm real hesitant to buy the stuff online though, because it's hard to tell from the pictures.

At TW you can get 5-packs if boss banded replacement skirts for $3.49. It seems like that is a better deal per strand than the buying skirt tabs...

Silicone skirt tabs come in a wide variety of length and strand types. I use Barlows Tackle in Texas for most of my jig making supplies.

I would think 3 tabs together would meet anyone's needs, I like to split the tabs and mixed 3 colors for example, rarely use more than 2 whole tabs. If you want more bulk consider using living rubber.

I've tried a lot of places and fishing skirts . com is the place I buy mine.  If you buy 100 ct you normally get a decent price break.

2.5 Tabs is about 55 strands

22 strands per tab sounds about right to me too. After about 4 tabs it gets pretty hard to work with. Living Image is 10 tabs for around $2.70 with discounts if you buy a certain amount. Other styles are different prices. It's a lot fun to play with. I recommend the Naked Baits skirt Expander if you're going to make very many and use bands.

Have you considered using star flash skirts? They are a lot bulkier than regular silicone skirts.
