Picked up a friend and we ran out west to the glades.  We started with top water and got a lot of Gar action but little interest from bass.  On the electronics you could see a mass of fish around every clump of grass or hump in the canal,  Not knowing what kind of fish they were we started hitting these clumps deep.  I picked up a few deep on a stick-o, and then killed them on a trick worm wacky rigged.  The bass were two or three feet off the bottom and hanging close to any little humps on the canal bottom.  I went through 2 bags of trick worms, and used a spinning rod and reel with 10 pound test.  This made the fishing a lot more fun then a heavy bait caster.

We finished with 43 bass landed, 3 big mudfish, and a few big Oscars.  Not a bad day considering we were headed home by noon.  The light tackle made the whole experience a lot more fun.  My friend caught a few on a chatterbait deep also.
