Chance_Taker4 Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Color Fading is my number one pet peeve with braided line. I have been using Vicious No Fade since it was released. I am in need of more line but wanted to see if there are other brands out there that do not color fade. I have tried PP, Suffix 832, Spiderwire, Tuffline to no avail. I was thinking of trying Seagur Flippin line or Daiwa braid but do not want to pay the money for a line that will be faded white in a couple outings. Anyone know of other line that does not fade? If not Ill stick with Vicious. Quote
Happybeerbuzz Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 If braided line didn’t fade, I’m not sure how many years it would be before I respooled. I use a leader with it so I lose very little of it due to abrasion. Quote

I just bought a couple more reels that need braid on them and the $55 price tag for the no fade is a little steep. Quote
waymont Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 I use yellow pp braid for visibility and don’t care if it fades. I usually get two full seasons out of it, then flip it and get two more seasons out of it. 1 Quote
ratherbfishin1 Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 I use 832 and I will use it for a season, then switch it around the next season (respool it backwards). It is less than $20 for a spool and you can find it on sale for $10 sometimes so it seems like one of the most economical options not to mention that it is the best braid I’ve tried IMO. Quote
matbellon3 Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Look into to Finatic braided line. Have not tried it but it claims not to fade at all. 1 Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted March 2, 2019 Super User Posted March 2, 2019 Any color braid + a green or black magic marker and never to worry. Color 3ft and you're good to go. Been using same braid on a couple reels for 3-5 seasons now. 1 Quote

Super User MIbassyaker Posted March 2, 2019 Super User Posted March 2, 2019 I honestly don't know how to tell if or when braid needs to be replaced. I think I'm going on 5 years on a couple of my combos. Quote

When they release a hi-vis variant, I will be first in line. Thanks for making me aware of the product. Quote
Heartland Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 I use Sunline FX2, I would be embarrassed to tell you how long I have had it spooled on my frog rod. I just can't seem to find any reason to replace it. Quote
craww Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 Line and Lure the night before...Makes a drastic difference. Quote
