Does anybody who has experience with 13 fishing think that the power ratings are accurate or underrated/overrated? Looking at the Envy Black rods and I see nothing but good reviews on TW.

Thanks Harrison

13 runs pretty accurate to their ratings in my experience.

I have a 71mhxf envy black. It seems pretty accurate although I don’t have a ton of experience with mh rods from multiple manufacturers.

I have an Omen Black that runs pretty identical to Kistlers' power ratings.

I'll second your comment.  They're my two favorite brands.

Good to know... what are your thoughts on it’s sensativity?

Okay thank you

I have 3 and all seem to be lighter than claimed.

As long as it’s not like a full power rating light I don’t mind, if it’s just on the lighter side of a MH and like a M then I’m not worried.

Thank you everyone for the repsonses!

It is very sensitive and light. I use it mostly as my bottom contact rod.

Well i just realized that I’ve been saying Envy Black when I really meant M-U-S-E. Oops.... hopefully they are relatively similar even tho the Envy is $100+ more. Thanks for you input!

had to put dashes in that because otherwise it becomes 3 stars. Annoying lol

Does this mean the company that shall not be named is back in good graces with Bass Resource or at least has a truce?

Yes, as long as everyone can behave themselves. Hopefully the spammers/prostaffers don't come back and it doesn't have to change back.

I have 1 7’6” heavy extra fast and it feels prettt much what it’s rated for! Excellent power, excellent sensitivity and find it a decent value for money! I’ve seen them on sale now getting rid of old stock and they are a killer rod at that price!

So it was overpromotion that caused them to be kicked before?

partially yes.

Ratings can’t be “accurate “ or “true” because there is no standard only subjective descriptions. A better way to get the info you’re after is to compare to a rod line you’re familiar with.

Try now.  If it still does it, then you're spelling it wrong.

Spelled it [One-3] without the brackets and hyphen

Why did you spell it that way?

Spell it like everyone else does - 13 fishing - and it works just fine.

I originally built my 6 rod system with the Omen Blacks.  I liked the ergos of the rod, and the sensitivity was good at the price point in my opinion.

I had 2, maybe 3 that broke the first 2 guides worth of tip off on hook sets or casts.  2 were 7 ft (ish, I think they are 7-1 but im not sure), and the other was a 6 something MH spinning rod.

One was replaced at the tackle shop without too much trouble, the others I re tipped because they had some age on them and I didnt feel right trying to get a free rod.

I do have a bit of a bad taste in my mouth about them though, and as I move forward, I won't be buying more of them.
