Yeah the two week forecast here shows lows of 10 and highs of 30!! So excited... not! I hoping it warms up by end of March so we can have an early ice out!

No offense, but the dumbest practice, ever. Indiana used to not observe it, one of the last to change, but we caved and I’ve been bitter ever since - lol ?

I’m with you here. I like ST! Light earlier and dark earlier. Early to bed early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise! Ah, maybe sometimes.

I love the days with longer light because it gives me the opportunity to do a lot more outdoor activities after work. Since I'm a bank fisherman here in the SC Lowcountry I can't fish the banks in the dark of night for fear of alligators.

X2. But up here in Virginia we don't fish at night due to the snapping turtles and copperheads.

Hate to make people mad but we haven't had enough snow here to use it yet this winter.

HUSH! Don't hex yourself! There's still time enough left for you-know-what!    ?    jj

If you get attacked by a snapping turtle in the middle of the night , I’ll give you $1000

Wish they just left it all year long!

In Illinois - they just approved (nov 2019) to get rid of DST. Dunno how that is going to work with the bordering states though...

The same way Arizona and Indiana and their bordering states do it.

Yes, I can’t wait! As a bank fisherman that extra time before dark on the weekday after work is awesome.

What is this time change you speak of????

You guys are lucky. I'm next door to you and think its so ridiculous. We passed a prop to end it, but it needs to be approved by legislation and now the bill has now been delayed. Ugh.

I'll spill the beans...

It messes with our sleep schedules and for us old, retired gents - that's a major pain. Waking up when it's still dark out is NOT something I like.

Ban Daylight Savings Time - it's a pain in the rump.

Yea - Just weirds me out - I mean more than usual.

On the other end of this is that since we are so far west in the EST zone,

come June & early July, sunset's after 10 pm . . .

Of course we'll still have snow . . . .

Hep me   hep me . . .

I’m retired. I get up when my body tells me too and I go to sleep when I’m tired. If it’s still dark out and I don’t want to get up, I don’t. Doesn’t matter to me what time the clock says it is.

Well, home situation...wife likes early-bed, early-rise...and since I'm her PCA, means I do that too.

I would love to have it all the time, but it makes no sense if one state does it alone.  It would be a nightmare to have to adjust constantly to time change, adjusting watches, and interstate business would have some real problems both vertically and horizontally!  Lol

Tn, I don't fish local ponds at night.

On Hobbyhill Road in Richmond there are snapping turtles. How do I know? Saw one trying to cross the road from the pond.

On Lochinvar Road in Richmond there are snapping turtles. How do I know? Because I used to throw bread to them (there are two) while fishing the pond. They would stay their distance and float in the water watching me.

And on Lochinvar Road pond I saw a copperhead slither below me as I stood on the dock.

No reason to go fishing at night at our local ponds.
