Daylight Savings Time

Only 12 days away and kind of a true start to "fishing season" for myself.  Being light till 7 allows for the weekday fishing option.

 

Now if these 50 mph winds would just bring warm weather.  Spring is coming.....

I'm with about the DST. I personally wish they would keep it year-round. As far as starting the fishing season, I only wish that was true in my area but it does signal the coming of something better and it lifts my mood a bit.

If simply spinning the hand around on the face of a clock could some how cause this mess (snow & ice) to magically vanish . . . . . I'd have worn my right index finger to the bone a looooong time ago . . .

Changing time twice a year - dumbest thing ever. I hate it. Pick a time zone and be done with it. We were one of the last states to convert. Still one or two left, holding their ground.

The DST switch is my favorite day of the year -- getting "an extra hour of sunlight" per day means I can spend more time outdoors after work

Agree with all. 

Been pretty bad last several weeks....any weekend days where the temp goes over about 42, something triggers major wind events.

Nothing like wanting to go to bed but the neighbor is mowing grass at 9:30.

2 week extended forecast into March... 20s, teens, and single digits. I'm so freaking over it. Best weather comes at the end of the forecast with 41 degrees and... 80 percent rain. Illinois is a true cesspool in every way.

I'm just one state east of you.  We're in for it, too. I will say that I remember early March blitzes like this transition to nice weather real fast. Last year everything tanked the second half of March.  Let's get it over with.

Hate it! I live in FL, it's hot! I need to get out at sunrise and now it will be even a later start. It won't get light here until 8 a.m.! For me the day is half over!  ?

Love the late sunsets and the time it allows us to do more fishing at the end of the day.

 

Hate the late sunrise when you have to drive and get set up in the dark.

 

But it is what it is and you just have to roll with the punches.

I love the days with longer light because it gives me the opportunity to do a lot more outdoor activities after work. Since I'm a bank fisherman here in the SC Lowcountry I can't fish the banks in the dark of night for fear of alligators.

I don't care if there is daylight savings time or not.  Just have it one way or the other and quit changing it.  If you want to do something early or late, do it, but don't make a law that says everybody has to live by your clock!

If it wasn't for smartphones automatically changing time I would always be late twice a year. Or early in one case I guess.

Interesting and fun reading all your different reasoning's....mine....as I get older the ol brain doesn't seem to be getting any younger other than forgetting stuff.  As the days get longer I just flat wear my self out.  I'm up early usually and so when I go fishing it's dawn to usually close to dark.  I've had friends (kinda) want to go fishing and after four or five hours they casually mention...what time ya going in...I say...close to dinner probably....Oh...they say....wife wants me home earlier ….she has stuff for me to do.  Oh....I'm thinking....!@%&....this guy will never see this boat again!!

Yep.  DST means the start of Wednesday evening tourney and fishing after work.

DST means I get to work 7 hours and get paid for 8 that night ? Of course I get to work through the longest hour of the year each fall too when the clock sets back.

You need to do what I did. Bought a snow blower with a headlight on it. Hate to make people mad but we haven't had enough snow here to use it yet this winter.
