looking to get off the bank and start fishing more often out of a kayak this year. i have a buddy who i selling his 2019 nucanoe 10ft because he got the frontier 12 for him and his wife. selling for 900 dont know if the seat is with it though. also west marine has the catch 120 for 800 something which is a little cheaper than it usually is. has anyone been in both of these and could compare? im a 6ft 255lb guy and fish lakes in the 50-100 arce range but could venture to marsh creek which is a 500+acre lake. any recommendations are appreciated.

Is it the Frontier 10?  I have the Catch 120 and a Frontier 12.  The Frontier kayaks are far superior to the Catch kayaks.  Don't get me wrong, the Pelican is a great kayak for the price but the Frontier or just NuCanoe in general is better.  They have a nice open deck, they are much more stable and are easier to customize.  If that is a Frontier 10 for only $900 then I wouldn't pass it up.

the guy just listed it was 10ft and talking to him he said he got the 12 version so i am assuming thats the frontier but i would definitely confirm before buying. i just didn't know for a bigger guy that will mainly be on  lakes if the 10ft is the way to go or to try and find the frontier 12 somewhere. not that i am going to be in the center of the lakes or anything but just heard a lot of reviews where they refer to the frontier 10 as a river and pond kayak

Usually with your height I would recommend a bigger kayak.  I don't have experience with Nucanoe but they have a good reputation.  In general I agree the Nucanoe would be a better build, however check out the ratings/specs of the boat.  In my opinion I would go with the bigger boat.

NuCanoe is fantastic and very stable.  I recommend the 12 foot model but you're going to spend $1500.  If the Frontier 10 is in good shape and is only $900 that's a pretty good deal.

I absolutely love my NuCanoe. Not sure I’ve seen a 10 footer though. Wonder which platform it is...

Daniel, are you talking about Marsh Creek Lake in PA? Sounds like it. If I were you I'd pass on the F10 and definitely look for an F12.

Shoot me a PM and I'll give you a bit more info.
