That said, the Pat's actually look beatable especially if they have to travel to Baltimore. Defense great-offense lacking. As an avid & admittedly spoiled Pats Fan, I agree regarding this teams extended success being repeated. There are so many really good teams this year - the post season games should all be competitive. While anyone can beat anyone at this point, the Ravens already took it to the Pats once this season. If New England doesn't have something different to show them, may not matter where they play. The Dirty Birds are that good. Hope they do play again. To win it all teams should want to beat the best. Super User J._Bricker Posted December 22, 2019 Super User Posted December 22, 2019 Heck of a game @OCdockskipper! Rams played well on both sides of the ball, Niners were fortunate enough to get the win. 12-3 and north to Seattle! Quote
OCdockskipper Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 It was, a evenly matched and hard fought game. Congrats to your Niners & best of luck next week. While you guys still have alot of football to play this year, here is a thought for next year. The way the schedule lines up, the NFC West will play the NFC East & AFC East as part of their schedule. That means we all get to play the Redskins, Giants, Dolphins & Jets next year, making our schedules a bit easier. Further, the Super Bowl will be on the West Coast (in the Rams new stadium), so if one of the NFC West teams grab the #1 seed, they won't have to leave the time zone. But that is a whole season away, the NFC will have 6 tough teams in their playoff bracket, with the winner most likely getting a shot at the Ravens. Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted December 22, 2019 Super User Posted December 22, 2019 I agree with your assessment of tonight’s game. Rams look like their O-line is playing up to last years form, and the D-line was applying pressure all night. Glad there’s more football to play, Seattle is gonna be tough. The NFC West is gonna be even more of a dog fight next year. Best of luck to you and your Rams Quote

As you’re aware, the Niners can’t look past the Rams. Then it’s for all the division marbles ? Well, the 'Hawks are done for the year. Most of the starters are out with season ending injuries, and they have no depth. They will lose the next 2 games and be done. There simply isn't enough talent on the team to absorb that many injured players. I was at the first game in '76, and have been a fan ever since. But I've never seen them as beat up and decimated at the end of the season as this. They just have nothing left in the tank to keep going. That's the reality. Onward to next season! Quote

Ahh, ‘76 when your ‘Hawks joined the AFC West, Zorn and Largent made for one hell of a rivalry game with the then very blue-collar Oakland Raiders. I don’t expect anything less from both teams given the NFC West title, the No. #1 seed, a chance to get healthy, and bragging rights are on the line. And what’s this I heard this morning about Marshawn contacting the ‘Hawks about a vacancy? At this point, I still think this is gonna be a good one with a lot to play for.... Quote

Super User flyfisher Posted December 30, 2019 Super User Posted December 30, 2019 And the Eagles overcome injuries galore and still manage to win the division with guys who were on the practice squad last week. They will beat whoever they play next week. I also hope this season has put to rest any talk about Wentz not being a winner and the Eagles should have kept Foles nonsense. Wentz did more with less than any QB in Eagles history for sure and set a few NFL and team records in the process. It is also nice to see the Cowboys self destruct yet again, as is the norm and lose when they have all the talent on paper in the world but can't win. They are a dumpster fire and always will be as long as plastic face is the owner and in control of anything football related. 2 Quote

Wentz has generally been the better quarterback, but at the same time there is no way that he could have done what Foles that year in the last two games to get to and win the Super Bowl either. On the flipside, they may have not even made the postseason with Foles playing the rest of the year. Now I'm not saying Wentz is junk and not worthy etc I am just saying there is no way he could have did what Foles did on that given year -- he is still young and learning etc. The other thing to consider that contributed to the Eagles winning the division is the Cowboys mid season self-destruction. We both know the Cowboys are overrated, but what happened there? I must admit even I'm a little surprised. 1 hour ago, gimruis said: I'm going with the Saints vs the Ravens in the Super Bowl. At this point, Miami is auditioning for the XFL and I would expect a true contending team could do just as well resting their starters. I expected the Patriots to get it together as the season progressed like they normally do, but they actually went the other way. 1 Quote
