In the NFC, the only unbeaten team is San Fran and then there are bunch of teams at 3-1 (GB, Dallas, Chi, NO, LA Rams, Seattle). So although the AFC has the top two teams in the league, the NFC clearly has more depth so far. i agree, the afc looks like crap. There isn't a decent qb in the bunch after brady and mahomes, maybe watson, maybe jackson, but not enough proof yet. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted October 7, 2019 Super User Posted October 7, 2019 Anyone else surprised that the Cowboys are trash? I mean they couldn't beat the Brees-less saints and couldn't beat the Packers at home and looked like trash in doing so. Eagles won a game they should win and did so pretty easily. Redskins are still a dumpster fire and the giants have come back to Earth. Next two weeks will probably all but decide the NFC east or at the very least give one team a big advantage. Now on to the sunday and Monday night games. Quote
Black Hawk Basser Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 I'm not surprised that Rodgers owned Dallas at their home; he's been great there over the years. Biggest shocker of the week was Indy over KC. Mahomes was off, and his ankle took a beating. Quote

Even though I think Mahomes is the biggest phenom to come along in a long time in the NFL, and I love watching him play, I still found myself rooting for Rogers. Gotta love the seasoned guys with the experience and drive. There are a few now that will soon follow Manning's path to retirement. When that happens Mahomes will be one of the best if not the best around. Quote
Black Hawk Basser Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Used to be that I couldn't stand Rodgers, but now, I kind of root for him. But screw Brady. Quote

He passed for over 300 yards still, but the injuries are killing them. 3 starting D linemen hurt, #1 and #2 WR hurt and out the whole game, starting LB hurt, #1 and #2 RBs hobbled, plus Mahomes ankle not being 100% before the game and then getting reinjured. Their defense is maybe worse than last year, which is hard to do when they were 31st in the league last year. Another year of playoff disappointment coming right up! The Texans are probably going to put a hurting on them Sunday too. Quote

Seems every team plays hard (at least at first) so they can say they beat The Pats. Just ask any Giants or Eagles Fan. I remember the Miami fan base losing their collective minds after last seasons miracle last play win over New England. Of course, the Pats did win the last game of the season, again. A-Jay Quote
Super User Sam Posted October 8, 2019 Super User Posted October 8, 2019 I don't think the Deadskins will make the Super Bowl this year. I may be wrong, but I really don't think they will do so. 1 Quote

Same basic thing for San Fran too 1 Quote

Super User gim Posted October 10, 2019 Super User Posted October 10, 2019 Buffalo was competitive against them a couple weeks ago. The rest of their games have not been competitive and I expect another blowout against the Giants on Thursday too. Quote

BTW... I've toured (camped) Michigan and the upper pen. I've been through visiting all continental states. Michigan was a great surprise. One of the best. Love the western side. Touristy but great. Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted October 15, 2019 Global Moderator Posted October 15, 2019 Holy crap did the Lions get screwed or what? Pretty sad that once again the officiating determines the outcome of the game. 1 Quote

Super User gim Posted October 16, 2019 Super User Posted October 16, 2019 The lions could have done themselves a favor by converting a couple of those 5 FGs into a TD or two instead. 1 Quote

I saw the outrage the next day about the officiating so I went to the box score. I though the same exact thing. You can't win in this league by making 3 points every time down the field. Quote
Black Hawk Basser Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 The above may be true, but its really frustrating when those penalties are called in the last couple minutes of the game. The Lions offense had to sit there and watch those two stupid calls and couldn't do anything about it. At least the cryin Saints had several chances to win after they got hosed last year. Quote
