Super User Darren. Posted September 7, 2019 Super User Posted September 7, 2019 Methinks NE is where AB wanted to play all along. What better place than to have the best QB throwing to one of the best WRs in attempt to win SB7. Sigh. The AFC East....do NOT respond, @J Francho, you are no longer welcome to chime in on anything related to the Bills ... or AFC East. Just. Just...because. 2 Quote

I agree, I think he wanted to be on the pats since Pittsburgh traded him. I saw a post saying there are 4 players currently in the league that have had a season of over 1600 yards..the pats have 3 of them. Gonna be interesting this year. 2 Quote

Many athletes now adays need a reality check. They are athletes, not political figures. Be a role model to the young kids and do something you love. This is what got many people upset a few years ago. There job is to play football, not create drama, and to stay in there lane. Which is why Antonio is now a Patriot. Belichick hopefully can straighten him out. Didn't he basically just prove that he is bigger than the game by getting exactly what he wanted? And as far as the patriots go, they have a horrendous track record with straightening guys out.... Quote

There is no evidence this is what he wanted however it does make sense for the Steelers to not want to trade to the Patriots. AB needs to get his bell rung. Which would help me in my fantasy league hahaha. The Raiders paid him more than the Patriots. The Steelers got rid of AB for a 3rd and 5th round pick, this is evidence that AB was not a well liked Steeler behind the scenes. Likely due to his behavior and attitude that he is the team. Then the Raiders were willing to cut him. Gruden is all about winning and still cut AB. It just proves IMO that although he is extremely talented that they would rather have someone who doesn't have the baggage. Can't see NE fixing AB's tick poor attitude. Likely I see this as ABs last season as nobody will want him on there team. Quote

There are also rumors that AB wanted to go the Pats all along so he may do just fine. Raiders are out zero dollars, AB has already said money isn't even an issue so that isn't why he will go anywhere. Patriots have him on a one year deal for not much cash really so if he sucks or is an issue, it is no big loss. There is no way that there weren't discussions prior to the release with the patriots since they signed him within hours of it happening. Quote

Super User flyfisher Posted September 8, 2019 Super User Posted September 8, 2019 Browns are only good on paper. Second year of any QB tells a lot since teams have al the tape they need and the time to prepare. They have talent but it will need to all come together for them to win. 2 Quote

I am curious to the legality of purposely being getting released in an effort to join another team whom you are likely already in communication with. Quote

I think that the AB should be suspended and fined if they find they are in communication to initiate a response from the Raiders to be released. As well as the Patriots face fines and lose of draft picks. I am sure more information will come back. Hopefully everything was done by the book and not on purpose. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted September 9, 2019 Super User Posted September 9, 2019 AB can do what he wants really as far as forcing a release by his behavior. Nothing will happen with the tampering deal for the Patriots though. Quote

Super User Jigfishn10 Posted September 9, 2019 Super User Posted September 9, 2019 How do you know it was tampering @flyfisher? Maybe after his release, AB notified his agent to contact the Patriots knowing that Patriots were interested in trading for him...Just saying. Quote

Super User Sam Posted September 10, 2019 Super User Posted September 10, 2019 Saints-Texans game was wild. Texans will do some damage this year. As long as Drew is healthy, the Saints will be a threat to go all the way. And it was nice to see the NFL apologize for the "no call" in last year's NFC championship game that cost the Saints a trip to the Super Bowl. At least you could consider it an apology as the NFL finally admitted their refs blew the call. Quote
