Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 16, 2019 Global Moderator Posted February 16, 2019 I don't understand the Flacco deal. Look at the stats, they're almost the exact same, except Flacco is older and more injury prone. I'd think that money and draft pick would have been much better suited building up the rest of the team. 2 Quote

Flacco has been done for 5 years, and denver has zero talent around him. Elway is playing as a scared gm at this point. 3 Quote
BassNJake Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 Being a Browns fan looks like its gonna start paying off ..... https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/odell-beckham-jr-trade-grades-browns-huge-winners-for-acquiring-wr-giants-clear-losers-in-an-utter-disaster/ Unless we just traded for drama, signed a GF beater and hired a 1st year coach which could lead to the same old Browns and their poor choices. I like what Dorsey is doing , which is not something I've ever said going back to the 80's. Quote

Super User deaknh03 Posted March 13, 2019 Super User Posted March 13, 2019 a lot of big names moving around this year. Suggs, mathieu, thomas, foles, obj, bennet, weddle, brown and bell to name some. I like an exciting offseason. 1 Quote

Great talent scout, terrible with money. Chiefs are still eating a ton of dead money from bad contracts he gave out and will still be paying on them in 2020 as well. I'm excited for the Browns, if any fan base deserves it the Brown's fans surely do. I think they'll make the playoffs pretty easily this year provided the wheels don't fall off and everyone can't get along. 1 Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 26, 2019 Super User Posted June 26, 2019 OK guys, here is a new one for you. Wife and I driving down Anderson Highway in Powhatan County when she sees a business' neon sign and asks me about it. The sign seems to be using the Tennessee Titans "T" in their logo. In fact, when I took a glance at it I thought it was the Tennessee Titans logo. But I am not a Titans fan so it never grabbed my attention and I never paid any attention to it. And I have no idea what type of business it is. She asks me did I see the sign she just saw. I replied "the one we just passed, what about it?" She says it looks like a jockstrap. I almost wrecked the car. She goes on to say that something like that should not be shown in public. I had no reply other than I have passed the business with that sign for a long time and never paid any attention to it. But I do know the logos of the NFL teams and wanted to refresh my memory about the Titans' logo. I got home and looked at the Titans' logo on the Internet and now think my wife is on to something. So I asked her to pull for the Titans this upcoming season just to get her goat. So far she has not seen the humor in my suggestion. And she complains that I don't notice things when we go out, especially if it is not related to fishing. Go figure? 1 Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted July 28, 2019 Super User Posted July 28, 2019 I'm looking for the Cowboys to win the NFC East again, assuming they stay healthy and get Zeke into camp. The Giants and Redskins won't be very good but the schedule will be tougher this year. Jason Witten is back and all the main pieces from last year's team are back, plus a few upgrades. Not expecting a SB but should be a contender. Quote
DanielG Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 Ah... dare I mention it Patriots Yes, I'm from New England. I read that a survey showed only New England and Michigan like the Patriots (Brady is from Michigan). The survey also said that the reason they didn't like them was because they wanted someone else to get to the playoffs or Bowl for a change. Here, we love Brady and his deflated balls. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 16, 2019 Author Super User Posted August 16, 2019 The Patriots are locked...but I am going to root for Kansas City this year (except when they face Denver). Cowboys? For the past 27 years, this is "Their Year". Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted August 16, 2019 Super User Posted August 16, 2019 Eagles if healthy will come out of the NFC. They are stacked on offense and probably have the best front 7 and O lines in football. redskins are a dumpster fire from all angles, The giants could surprise some people, even without OBJ. The cowboys, well its always there year but it never seems to work that way. There is a lot going on in Jerry world off the field with players getting arrested, holdouts, people wanting big contracts etc... KC is poised to continue playing well and should do just that. It will be interesting to see if Mahommes can adjust now that teams have a full year of tape on him but Reid is probably the best coach to never win a super bowl with maybe Levy there too. 2 Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted August 16, 2019 Super User Posted August 16, 2019 Should be another interesting season. I Certainly hope that 'The Rules' & 'Video Replay' are much less of a topic of conversation this time around. But I have a feeling that may not be the case. The Browns & the Texans might surprise some teams this season - And as a life long New England Patriots fan, I do realized that the insane and unprecedented run of eight consecutive AFC championship game appearances might never be exceeded or even duplicated, has been great to watch, but has to come to a screeching halt at some point. This could be that year. A-Jay Quote

I hear ya ~ The talking heads have to have something to talk about - Could be worse I guess - in the recent past it was more about who was 'beating' who and none of that was on the grid iron . . . . BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted August 16, 2019 BassResource.com Administrator Posted August 16, 2019 The Browns look really good - they have depth, which every superbowl winning team has had. Raiders look good on paper, but it kinda sounds like Philidelphia when Chip Kelley was there. Gruden will have his hands full with all the egos on that team. 'Hawks had a pretty good draft, and appear to be a better team than last year; but I need to see more film before making any playoff assessments. Quote
detroit1 Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 The ONLY way the Lions get in the superbowl is with a ticket. ??? 1 Quote
