Pikeman12 Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 I was at bass pro today and was showed this https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-100188256 I was told that these are made by Diawa? Anyone know? I gotta say, it felt very smooth and the frame was very comfortable to hold. The handle felt like one of my old sustains as well. Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted February 11, 2019 Super User Posted February 11, 2019 Interesting, I’m heading to the Spring Classic at BPS, so might as well handle one. Quote
PLfishing Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 I'm not sure, maybe Daiwa helped manufacture it? I'm curious about it myself. Either way, it looks like a good reel. Quote
OnthePotomac Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 I have heard several say in the past the Daiwa made Cabelas reels and now that they are one company who knows. Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted February 11, 2019 Super User Posted February 11, 2019 Another forum had Pflueger making the Johnny Morris series. Only way to know is to ask...though I doubt they'll answer. Quote
Pikeman12 Posted February 11, 2019 Author Posted February 11, 2019 Yeah I was looking at the Shimano Nacis and he says to me "also, we just got this, its a really nice reel." I picked it up, and loved it honestly. Hard to imagine picking a bass pro shops reel or rod over a shimano though. Quote

This is true Daiwa made both spinning and casting reels as cabelas exclusives, like the recent Arachnid, a blue Tatula tyoe R. They also use to make round and spinning reels as St. Croix brand. Quote
