Wired Wrong Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 I have a 2000 Triton TR 20 and am wanting to convert to 36 volts for trolling motor, has anyone done this ? Any tips on fabrication for an extra battery? Thanks Quote

Super User WRB Posted February 19, 2019 Super User Posted February 19, 2019 Not sure what the rear compartment configuration of your boat. As I recall your TM batteries are located on the left passenger side, the cranking battery on the right drivers side, the center well area is open. You can put 3/4" marine plywood to spand the width of the rear compartment that is wide enough for 3 batteries sideways on the passenger side, about 28", or 28" wide with 2 TM batteries sideways (as is) and add 1 TM with the cranking battery on the drivers side. This gives you a shelf over the middle well area for storage. AGM's are sealed and easier to move around. Tom Quote
Shimano_1 Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 I've got an 08 Triton 20x2. Dont know how urs is configured but I've got 2 trolling batteries on the left and one trolling and 1 cranking on the right. I'm OCD about weight distribution lol. If u dont have room tho I'd say wherever you can fit another tray. You'll be glad you upgraded with more power I'm sure. Quote
sully420 Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 If you have the cash get a lithium battery that will take the same amount of space of a 24v lead acid system would require. Quote
Wired Wrong Posted May 19, 2019 Author Posted May 19, 2019 I had to buy 3 batteries and couldn't handle the cost of Lithium. Quote
Super User WRB Posted May 19, 2019 Super User Posted May 19, 2019 It's been several months, did you complete the installation? Tom Quote

Did you have to change the whole wire harness or did you use the same harness as you had with the 24v? Did you change out the circuit breaker? Quote
