BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 10, 2019 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 10, 2019 Anybody watching the Alliance of American Football games this weekend? 8 teams, 10 week season, notable players and coaches. All 8 teams are in cities that don't have an NFL team. It has my attention. Also read they're bringing back the XFL next year. Should be interesting. *Edit* 6 of the 8 cities don't have NFL teams. Like everyone else, I'm just learning about this new league. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 10, 2019 Super User Posted February 10, 2019 How 'bout a Super Star head coach: https://www.cbssports.com/aaf/news/memphis-express-vs-birmingham-iron-odds-line-aaf-picks-best-predictions-from-football-insider/ Quote
Super User Darren. Posted February 10, 2019 Super User Posted February 10, 2019 Didn't hold me enough last night, but I'll give it a chance. Will be interesting to see if both leagues catch on. Quote
HeyCoach Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 Birmingham Iron smoked Memphis today, final score was 26-0. The broadcast quality looked pretty good, also had good camera work. What I think the teams need to work on is offensive line and receivers. O-line in both of the games I watched had blown assignments or didn’t block anybody. Receivers looked sloppy running routes and blocking downfield. Quote

Super User fishballer06 Posted February 11, 2019 Super User Posted February 11, 2019 I caught the tail end of the San Diego and San Antonio game on Saturday night on CBS. The players seemed fairly talented. The only scoring I saw was a 38 yard field goal, which is more than what some NFL kickers can hit sometimes. All that being said, I'd be willing to watch it again. I wish they had some more northern based teams. Quote

Pittsburgh's Chris Boswell was 4/6 from 30-39yds and 5/10 from 40-49yds this year. When 3 of your teams 6 losses were by 3 points or less, those points really add up. 2 Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 11, 2019 Super User Posted February 11, 2019 Will want to see Rick Neuheisel's team when I can. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 12, 2019 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 12, 2019 They need better announcers, that's for certain. Quote
Tyler. Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 They need to make these leagues like baseball. NFL teams own them and can have call ups and send players down throughout the season. If they were affiliated with NFL teams I think it would hold more viewers. Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted February 12, 2019 Super User Posted February 12, 2019 I like Arena football better than this new stuff. Quote
Super User jimmyjoe Posted February 18, 2019 Super User Posted February 18, 2019 Dang. Just saw the title. Thought it was about the Army Air Forces. Nope. Oh, well .... jj Quote
