Who has experience with Case Plastics? I've been wanting to try their Sinkin Minnows and Shad, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I really like the look of the sink rate and the profile itself. Has anyone used them on Smallies with success?

I use a lot of Case plastics. Sinking Shad, Sinking Minnow, Jacks Worm, and their Magic Stiks. They all work well. Durability is good and they all sink well. I’ve been using them for years

I met Charlie Case Years ago when he owned the company.  It is owned now by Fishing Complete out of Michigan.  If I had not gone with Yamamoto I would be using Case Plastics.  I was a very early user of the Jack's Worm (named after a longtime friend of Charlie's that passed).  Great company Great Product.  Well worth checking out.

I haven't used their minnows or shad but I have had epic days on the river using their beaver (Case calls theirs Lil' sweet pea). Good company, very responsive, durable baits.

Ken Penrod who guides on the Susquehanna and Potomac Rivers is sponsored by them and he uses a lot of their baits successfully. KenP20 will get you a 20% discount on your order, that may help you try them.

Thanks for the responses everyone! And for the promo code @heavyduty.

@Munkin, what sort of techniques do you use their baits for with smallies?

Sweet peas T-rigged on a 3/16oz bullet weight will catch bass in any body of water in the state of Maryland . Jacks worms have worked best for me a Carolina rig bait at Deep Creek Lake but they have also worked on a shakeyhead. The salty sinking shads work better than Zoom flukes when you need the bait to sink at a faster rate.

PS If you have an inn with them ask them to make me sweet peas in solid black.

I have no experience with Case Plastics but if you Google "Backwoods Angler TV" you should find a bunch of episodes on their tv show. Blaine Mengel was sponsored by Case Plastics. He uses them a lot fishing for smallmouth on the show and seems to do quite well.

Might give you some decent info. Hope it helps.

I’ve contacted them a few times by email asking that they bring back the chartreuse with black pepper color in the Sweet pea. Very responsive and said they may consider it but nothing yet. That color works well on both LM and smallies. That color in that particular bait style is not something the masses would buy up without knowing how productive it actually is. On the other hand, black is a very accepted color by the majority and shouldn’t be a hard sell to get them to produce. Worth an email. I was successful (I believe) in getting them to bring back green pumpkin (go figure, of all colors!) They were out of that color for almost a year and they responded to my email that it was a good call and a couple weeks later it was available.

Never heard of this company until now. This came up when I googled Case baits. I guess they make it, either way I ordered a 3 pack, watermelon red, to try. I know exactly where I'm throwing it too. 13" Zip-Zilla.

Fishing Complete has a bunch of brands that they sell (and own?) On their site. The Zipper grubs also look really cool! Like a ribbed craw imitating grub. I mean, I AM a Smallie guy soooo....

what colors of their Sinkin Minnows and Shad are good choices to go with? I have no experience with any sort of soft jerkbait...

Pearl white is the best overall color for me.

Looked and I did not find any chart/pepper baits only WM and WM/Red. I will look around some more this weekend as I had some but am not sure where they are at right now.

Thanks @Munkin, whenever I make an order I'll be sure to check out those pearl whites. There's a YouTube channel of a guide in the U.P. who uses those as well. Great tips and videos too.

Would that be Ken Penrod?

Mike Mladenik, I believe

Mike Mladenik guides mostly for smallmouth on the Menominee River out of Crivitz WI. He is a pro staffer for Case Plastics. For those in the Chicago area, tomorrow and Sunday, he’ll be at the Tinley Park Fishing and Outdoor Show doing seminars and manning a booth. He usually sells Case Plastics out of his booth at the show. That’s where I’ll stock up.

Wish I was in that area! I'd love to meet him and visit the booth for some Case Sinkin Minnows. I'm hours away unfortunately.
