Super User Bankbeater Posted February 4, 2019 Super User Posted February 4, 2019 I use to watch him on TV when I was in Jr. High School. Hope your recovery goes smooth Bill.

I stream everything like everyone my age. I learned how to Bass fish watching YouTube videos of guys around my age. Bill Dance is lore to me. He is a good one to watch for novice anglers. Most advanced anglers will know most of what he will tell you. And his shows are usually filmed at private lakes like Bienville Plantation where he's likely to catch lots of bigger bass. But I started watching him when I was maybe 10. His show came on Sunday afternoons at 12:30. I asked my parents to get me my first baitcast reel and filled it with Stren mono because he was using it on his show. I thought he walked on water. It feels like he's an uncle to me. 3

kenmitch Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Nice to see he's back on the water again! Let's hope for his sake he stays out of the water till he fully recovers! Kind of looks like they set Bill up on this one. 2
Super User N Florida Mike Posted February 6, 2019 Super User Posted February 6, 2019 Bill's one of my favorites. Been watching his shows since I was a teen. Prayers and best wishes for his recovery.
Super User WRB Posted February 6, 2019 Super User Posted February 6, 2019 Bill Dance is an original....Bassmaster, TV Bass fishing host, King of the bloopers and a really nice man who treats everyone equally. I met Bill Dance following a speaking tour when Ray Scott brought his top anglers to California's Santa Monica Fred Hall Show in '68 when he was still competing as a Bassmaster pro. I was fishing lake Irvine and returning to the dock with 2 guys standing there. I recognized both instantly one was Dick Gaumer the Fenwick rep and the other had a Tennessee T cap on was Bill Dance. Apparently Guamer had arrange a fishing outing with someone who was a no show and they were waiting for him. I knew Dick and he asked me if I would take Bill out for a hour to fish. How could anyone say no! Dance had 1 outfit and a small tackle bag and wanted to try out a new worm called a Diamondback. I took him up by the dam where a good bite was on and caught several good size bass quickly off the 1st point we tried. Bill never stopped talking and asking questions and telling stories. We fished 1 hour and returned, he invited me to go fishing with him whenever I was in Tennessee. Never took him up on the invite. Get well old man! Tom 9

You should to start a thread, where once a week you post one of your fishing stories. I for one, never get tired of reading them.
