I've always had luck with Mepps Aglia and Comet for trout - stocked or resident. Size 0 and 1 would be your best bet - slow retrieve...just enough to get the blade turning.

Panther martins, yellow body with red spots and black body with yellow spots usually were my best. Followed by rooster tails, then a kastmaster spoon.

Roostertails 1/16 or 1/8oz have been best for me in white, yellow, or black. Inline spinners are rarely my bait of choice for trout though.

I'd go with a marabou Road Runner instead. I hate treble hooks. And I've caught a lot of trout on RR's over the years.

Joes flies spinners

Yep these work great for stocker trout around here.  Basically a wholly worm on a spinner.

Just ordered 2 to give them a try.

Like any spinner for trout just fish it fast enough to keep the blade turning. Rarely will you get bit burning a spinner.

Casting bubble with a Pistol Pete propellered-fly. Will catch more trout than any of those inline spinners.

I never saw or heard of them before.

Fill a clear casting bubble up with water (no air bubbles whatsoever) and have a 5’ leader from your bubble to the Pistol Pete fly.  My favorite colors are Christmas Tree (John Deere green, White, red), Olive Green, and Black.

Cast it in in the middle of the pond and count down to 3 seconds.  Slowly reel the handle and lift the rod up quickly on bites. This presents your lure in the strike zone at a longer window and is more subtle and natural appealing to both reactionary and opportunistic feeding trout. Crazy effective on a damselfly hatch  too. Trust me on this set up.

Anyone here caught a palomino trout? They stock these fish along with the regular rainbow trout. Catching a palomino trout was one of my favorite catches when I fished up north on vacation.

Check out a lure called a super duper, it is a spoon if I had to guess and works great for stocked trout. Saw a guy catch his 5 fish limit in 7 casts with one of these.

Sight fished this sucker with a micro jig under a bobber. Watched him cruising back and forth along a shoreline eating hatching bugs and he finally took my jig. Pretty hard to miss spotting one in clear water.

Nice palomino trout. They are much more difficult to catch than a regular rainbow trout. Took me a couple hours to catch my first one since it did not want to bite anything while the regular rainbow trout did. It was on a day that I caught 38 trout in less than 4 hours of fishing and I stopped fishing for trout after I caught the palomino trout. Could of caught well over 50 rainbow trout if I wanted to. This was on public waters from land and that day was one of the funnest fishing trips I have had while fishing in northern waters.

Mepps Wooly Worms are my favorite for smaller trout.  Rooster Tails always seem to be productive for me too.  Rooster Tails can be had cheap, I often find them for less than $2 at my local Walmart.
