baboosicbass08 Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Well i finally got a jon boat its a 10' flat bottom. I got it today for 200. I am going to get 2 swivel seats for it, fishfinder, and hopefully a paintjob before it hits the water this year. With next weeks temps in the high 60's for the majority of the week it shouldn't be long before the ice is gone from the lakes/ponds. The pic i have now is just from my cell phone as i didn't have time to get the digital out and load them on the computer before work but i will post better pictures tomorrow. Quote
CGH Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Nice find! What color will you pain it. Is it going to be an all elecvtric boat or will you put a outboard on it. Quote
baboosicbass08 Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 Thanks not to sure on what color to paint it yet. My friend has a few trolling motors so it'll be electric. Heres some more pics, haven't quite cleaned it up yet but probably tomorrow, pretty good upgrade from a cheap inflatable boat me and my friend have been using the past 2 years. Quote

Low_Budget_Hooker Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Guys, be careful putting 2 people in a 10'....just a forewarning. :-? It's very, very, very easy to dunk the stern corners,....that means diving for your tackle and rods if they aren't tied to the boat :-[ Be careful. Quote
Popeye Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Thanks, LBH!!! I was going to mention that right away. 2 people in a small 10' jon can be a very precarious and potentially dangerous situation. Guys - PLEASE be VERY CAREFUL! What is the rated weight capacity on the boat?? 2 guys with gear and a trolling motor and battery can quicky exceed most recommended maximum capacities on boats like that and with a flat bottom, the boat can be "tippy", especially with 2 guys aboard. After saying all that for safety's sake: that is a nice jon you got there and a great price! Quote
