wasabi_VA Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 I have a pack of Rage Toads getting dusty and want to throw them across some lilly pads this season. Any suggestions for a hook and rigging method? The guy at the tackle store suggested something like Ribbit double hooks but since he didn't carry them anymore I was slightly skeptical. I'm thinking they are heavy enough to cast and won't need added weight, right? I don't want them sinking down into the pads. Quote
XzyluM Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 I always rig them with a Moaner Swimbait hook and it works for me. I think the most important thing is making sure you have them rigged perfectly straight. Quote
haggard Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 I got some of these Rage Toads from @jbmaine and he had it rigged with a unweighted swimbait hook. Not sure what size but I'd guess somewhere between 5/0 to 7/0. It has a screw lock to hold the plastic and a ring that couples to the hook eye. Pop the hook point through the body Texas rig style, into the underbelly and out the top. 1 1 Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 3, 2019 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 3, 2019 I show how to rig it in this video: 2 Quote
IgotWood Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 They rig nicely on the Rabbit double hook. It looks a little funny because the hook gap is a tad big for the bait, but it works just fine. They do sink though. You won’t be fishing this road slow if you intend to keep it on top. Quote
