Siebert Outdoors Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 Guys and Gals I need some help. I'm looking for a mega craw/jig trailer. What is the biggest craw trailer you know of. I'm looking for something bigger and bulkier then a Rage Lobster. This can be custom poured by a company or brand. It doesn't matter. Thank you! Quote
Super User Munkin Posted January 31, 2019 Super User Posted January 31, 2019 I have used a Zoom toad in the past. Allen Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 31, 2019 Global Moderator Posted January 31, 2019 There's a guy on a swimbait page that pours one that's about 8" long, over an inch in diameter, I think it is close to 1.5oz of plastic unrigged. Not sure exactly how big you're looking. Quote
Jelvas Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 The Gambler MegaDaddy is big, really big! 1 Quote
river-rat Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 I've used a Gene Larew 6" Hawg Craw for many years when I want a large craw type trailer. I usually trim about 1" - 1 1/2" off and thread it on the hook. I've also used the 5" Larew Biffle Craw. 2 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted January 31, 2019 Super User Posted January 31, 2019 Riverside made a 5.5 inch one called the Big Claw . I have a bunch of them . 2 Quote

Super User WRB Posted January 31, 2019 Super User Posted January 31, 2019 D & M makes a 5 1/2" craw that fishes big, and they are top quality with good color selection. D & M also have custom lures you might check with them. Tom 1 Quote
keagbassr Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 3 that come to mind are reaction innovations double wide beaver 5.2"and Berkley papa pit boss and jumbo chigger craw both 5". Of these the double wide would be the bulkiest. 1 Quote
Big Swimbait Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 This company has a 9" craw. http://www.creationbaits.com/9lizards9crawfish.html 1 1 Quote
fin Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Years ago I found a craw trailer sitting in the water along the edge of the lake that was huge, like 6"-7" and it was a realistic craw, not stylized like most craw trailers are. In fact, it looked pretty real when I first saw it, like a baby lobster in the lake, lol. I started trying to find out who made such a big craw, searching online, to no avail. It turned out that it must have been in the lake for years and had a real high salt content, because as it dried out over a few days, it shrank to half its size. It's weird to me that nobody sells something like that. There were some molds out there at one time, who knows where they are now. I wouldn't try a stylized big craw, personally. They work in smaller sizes, obviously, but when they get that big, they don't really resemble a crawfish. 1 Quote
WVU-SCPA Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Magnum Baits Mauler is 6.25" and carries some mass to it. 1 Quote
CroakHunter Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Havoc 5" pit boss is my go to when I want bulk on the back of a jig. Usually bite the first 1/2" off so it is square up top and makes the skirt flare more. Looks good on the back of an enraged series jig. 1 Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted February 1, 2019 Super User Posted February 1, 2019 Why not go with the Magnum Rage Bug? It's bulkier than the Lobster. 1 Quote

Super User MassYak85 Posted February 3, 2019 Super User Posted February 3, 2019 There's longer ones out there for sure but as far as shear bulk the Magnum Baits 6.25" Mauler is pretty huge. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 3, 2019 Global Moderator Posted February 3, 2019 This is the one I was talking about, next to a Romanmade Mother for scale. http://hooksetterusa.com/keith-severns-10-crawdad/ 1 Quote
IgotWood Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 If I am going big, I like the Power Team Conviction Craw. It’s 4.5”, but it has a lot of bulk, and it looks like a lobster when rigged on a jig. Great bait on its own, but still practical enough in size to rig on a jig. Lots of bulk, good movement, durable plastic, and their colors are great. 1 Quote
Mr. Aquarium Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 check out samatis baits. He makes a 7inch craw, the thing its beastly! pumped to use it this year. It a new bait. I love his other craws, bit smaller but chunky for a jig trailer with different action 2 Quote
