Group 2 doesn't gain advantage over Group 1, but Group 2 gains advantage over other guys in Group 2. If one guy in Group 2 finds out a jerkbait is the hot bait, he could beat other group 2 guys that never got that piece of information, etc.

That is possible but it is against the rules and would face the consequences if caught.  Knowing what worked the day before does not always help either.  A lot can change in one day.   The more I think about the more I don't think it's ever going to be an issue.

I can listen to Wesley Strader talk bass fishing for hours but theyre still talking over him!!  Wish theyd realize we want to hear the anglers talk!  :)

Dustin Connell has only caught one fish today and he is sharing a condo with Wheeler and MDJ who both advanced yesterday. So that if Connell received tips they ain’t helping him lol

Nobody has advanced yet, the entire field fishes 2 days.

I would rather listen to the announcers than Greg Hackney's jacket or bibs or whatever it is scratching the mic while he says nothing. LOL

Marty Robinson is on FIRE!!!!

Another fun day.  Completely different conditions yet some guys figured it all out.  Was very impressive to see Robinson make that surge while Gagliardi hit a wall.  Really enjoying it.

I haven't been able to watch every second of Live but I have watched quite a bit both days. I would love to hear more from the anglers and I think they did a better job of that today. That said, I think JT and Marty are really good as commentators, I've enjoyed the first two days.

This may be an old man complaint, but I find written coverage of MLF events to be lacking.  I'm from a generation that likes reading about events and having boxscores to review, MLF seems to be more focused on doing video for everything.

It wouldn't have to be overly thorough, just a brief recap with some interview quotes.

If I were you I’d mention that to them. Post it on one of their social media accounts. I think they’re going to be pretty open to suggestions at this stage. Doesn’t hurt to let them know what you want from them while it’s still new.

I watched a bunch of the BPT coverage today and I have to say I was REALLY impressed by how simple they kept it. The camera coverage was quite good and their commentary team isn't bad. JT Kenney is really cut out for color commentary and I was digging his vibe. I think him retiring and moving into the media side of things was a very good move. It was funny hearing him stumble on his words a bit, you could tell he was nervous. He just committed though and plowed through his thoughts

I think with them only having to cover 40 BIG NAME anglers, it makes their life a lot easier because they can send their camera boats anywhere they need.

The only knock I have on them is how often my feed just "froze" on my phone. I would be watching, then it would freez up, and I would have to refresh the page and watch the Lowrance HDS Live commercial for the 400th time. I think I'm going to have dreams about it. I'm sure they will get this tweaked.

I really wish they would live-stream on Youtube because then it's super easy to watch the live feed on any smart TV. Bass and BPT need to take a page from FLW on this one.

For being their FIRST event, the BPT seems to have their stuff together. I was expecting a trainwreck, but it's pretty well put together.

I like that they wern't trying to over-produce it with tons of graphics, cutaways, or hand-feeding information to people. They just went to the anglers and let the fishing take center stage.

I had to refresh a lot today as well. I agree about the Lowrance commercial lol

But I too think they are doing a great job!

I watched the coverage yesterday and technically, they did a pretty good job dropped the feed a couple of times but I was satisfied with the coverage.  Here's where my jaw dropped open.

When a Social Media question was asked of the panel and Marty Stone answered, I almost got on the homepage and started a rant.  Remember, this tour is all about the "care and well being of the fish".  The question asked was if competitors came across bedding bass, are they allowed to catch the fish more than once?  Marty Stone's answer was that initially, the anglers voted "no" but reconsidered and voted to allow it.  His rationale was that you are not going to catch the same fish again after being caught and released.

This is simply not true.

Depending on where they are and what species of bass they are fishing for (largemouth or smallmouth), you can catch the same fish multiple times.  Not even up for discussion.  It's a fact.  I've watched it on St Clair and I've seen the damage done to the fish.  We call them "hamburger mouths" from being caught so many times.  So if an angler gets on a 4lb smallmouth on the bed, they can pole down and keep catching that fish multiple times until it finally quits biting or abandons the bed.  So much for fish care.   One of my sponsors is a banner sponsor on MLF and they asked on Social Media on our Pro-Staff page what our thoughts were and I had to uncork.

Most of MLF/BPT's 'conservation' points are pretty hollow...Which would normally be fine with me, that's their thing and they market it.  But the constant drum-beat slamming traditional tournaments and other trails is really off putting to me.  Sort of a "throwing stones from a glass house" type of thing to me.

Some of the angler's comments on-air have surprised me...I've lost a tiny bit of respect for some of them, especially the ones that were laying it on thick, yet will be fishing in the Classic in just a couple months and using those evil livewells.

I'm hoping they will tone it down after this first event...But if this is how they're going to operate all the time, my interest is going to fade.

Is it just me or does the coverage remind you of golf tourney coverage.  It gives my that same feel and I like it.

What little I watched reminded me of golf and thought it was awesome. Pretty neat to see how the every fish counts is changing the leaderboard today.

Cutting the field into two groups of 40 was a brilliant move, they capture a pretty impressive percentage of the field live and get 6 full days of footage.  I'm just hoping the cameras move around a little bit in the 3rd period so the focus shifts to the bubble instead of the few guys who probably didn't even need to show up today in order to advance.

Have you guys noticed that there are some contradictions among the officials?  I seen a bass touch the carpet yesterday with no penalty..  Ive seen some officials award penalties for just touching their shirt & others not..  I also just seen an official tell Jared Litner not to touch his rod during a penalty while Ish gave the viewers a full tutorial of his bait, rod, line, ect during a penalty..  Im loving the Live coverage though!!! :)

I like the two groups as well, really enjoying the live coverage.  I'm just wondering if the shot gun round and elimination round weights should be averaged together to decide the top 20. At this point, the guys in the top 5 could more than likely stop fishing for the rest of the day and still easily make the cut, other than finding new fish for the next round, there really isn't much of an incentive for them to keep fishing.  Since the weights reset after elimination, your place in the original top 20 doesn't matter at all as long as you make the cut.  An average of the two days would at least force them to be consistent between the two rounds.

Anyone catch all the Ish coverage earlier?  He was complaining about some someone whining at him for having the boat official kiss the fish I believe and even dropped an f-bomb.  Pretty funny.  I wonder if they can get fined for stuff.

Haha! he dropped a couple F bombs during that rant!

Agree there isn't enough incentive for the guys at the top to keep fishing hard in these early rounds.  Maybe smaller cash prizes or a few extra AOY points (if they do AOY points?) for the guys at the top of each group when weights reset?

Yesterday Swindle squeezed a fish in between his knees to settle it down while he was sitting down, JT said, "There's a 2 minute penalty" and the boat official didn't penalize him. I'm sure they will iron it all out but I have noticed some inconsistencies too.
