Kenneth Chang Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 I can’t really decide between the two so I need some help Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted January 29, 2019 Super User Posted January 29, 2019 Didn't we have this discussion recently? 4# either Mono or FC... 2# is just a bit too light 1 Quote
Super User WRB Posted January 29, 2019 Super User Posted January 29, 2019 Main line or leader? Tom Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted January 29, 2019 Super User Posted January 29, 2019 It's personal preference, but for what it's worth I usually run 4lb mono for trout fishing. Quote

Tyler. Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 have you ever tried that SOS line from Walmart? It's cheap. I like it because it can float and when using Powerbait eggs or worms it's beneficial. I use 4 lb and have no issues with trout seeing it. It's also mossy green which is beneficial. I use it in stocked fishing river so they have seen anything and everything. Quote
Super User Ratherbfishing Posted February 1, 2019 Super User Posted February 1, 2019 I really wouldn't go any lower than 4 lbs. 2 lbs is too light for anything other than, maybe, crappie or bream. The smallest nick or crimp in 2 lb line renders it weaker still. Quote
Super User Spankey Posted February 1, 2019 Super User Posted February 1, 2019 4# mono. 2 # will give you troubles in the long run. Good quality of 4 lb. test and everything will go ok. 1 Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted February 2, 2019 Super User Posted February 2, 2019 I always use 2# test for trout & panfish. Quote
