dbcooper Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 How has the bass fishing been on Lake Talquin the last few weeks? How high is it with all the extra water the last few months? Quote
Fishstalker001 Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 The lake is only .3 ft above average. As far as fishing goes, reports I've heard that it is slow at the moment. If there is a warming trend for a week or so, bass will be moving up to spawn. Our club has a tourney there near the end of Feb., I would except the fish to be in all stages of the spawn by then. Of course, this all depends on the weather. Quote
dbcooper Posted January 29, 2019 Author Posted January 29, 2019 Thanks We will be fishing it next week. I will let you know how it goes. Quote
KHNC Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 So how did your trip go? I am coming down for crappie on the 16th myself. Quote
Fishstalker001 Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 I'll probably see you there, our club has a bass tourney on the 17th. launching from Talquin Lodge. Quote
KHNC Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Thats cool. I am staying at LTL til monday. I will have my Lowe 1860 Tunnel Jet crappie boat with me this time. Leaving bass boat at home. Center console camo. Im guessing it will be prime bass weather too! I will have a couple rods in the boat in case i stumble on a nice one to sight fish! Good luck on the 17th! Quote
Fishstalker001 Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 Thanks, I'll be in a White Triton 18XS pulled by an F250, should get there sometime around 2pm on Sat. The bass fishing should be good, high of 78 on Sunday (moving up to bed). Good luck with the Crappie fishing, lots of crappie fisherman there this weekend. Talquin Lodge was booked up. Quote
KHNC Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 Yeah, the lodge has called me twice to make sure im still coming. Said the waiting list is very long! im sure the crappie are on beds by now too. Quote
dbcooper Posted February 21, 2019 Author Posted February 21, 2019 How was the fishing? When we went 2 weeks ago the bass fishing was tough. It was still cold and muddy. Only 10 of 24 boats weighed a fish and only 3 or 4 boats had a limit. Quote
Fishstalker001 Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Bass fishing was terrible, I couldn't put anything together for the day. I did mange to find my back seater big bass of the tourney at 5.1 lbs. Caught lots of Jacks and even a catfish. Water temp was 62 to 62 and dirty. Quote
KHNC Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Crappie bite was very strong. I never even attempted to catch a bass. Did not hear much good about the bass bite all weekend . Quote
