PeteG Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Hello, I plan to ice fish a small shallow lake this coming weekend. Never fished crappie before this past fall. I know where they were before the water temp went below 55. Should I look for them in the deep along dock structure or shallow along the weeds. Dock is 12' or so... weeds about 5' and max depth is 16' . Lake is about 58 acre and seems loaded with crappie. Thanks! Quote
bassh8er Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Shouldn’t be too hard to find then. I’d start on the weed edges and then move to the “basin” and keep popping holes and moving around until you find them. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted January 22, 2019 Super User Posted January 22, 2019 Try hanging two marabou jigs about a 1' apart, over the main lake break or channel edge. Quote
