For those of you that know the history of these kayaks. Has anyone ever seen these kayaks go on sale? Like around certain times of the year? (sale, meaning less than the normal $750 retail price)

$703 on Amazon with free shipping currently on the Blue Sonic Camo color. It's weird but sometimes it's just one color offering that's marked down. Shipping on these over sized items often kills the sale prices. I know ACK charges $49 for delivery on this specific kayak.

As far as the sales question goes....I got no idea as they come and go so often and I seldom look at kayaks as I already have a Slayer 10.

but on the positive side, if you buy a kayak from ACK, you get 15% off accessories.

I see the Amazon price, with free shipping.

You'd get your choice of colors at least. Looks like they throw in some little $60 bait cooler for free possibly? It's shown in the picture but doesn't add to the cart? Maybe it drops in on checkout? I guess if Blue is a no go and your going to buy a lot of accessories on initial purchase and you get the bait cooler it might be a better deal.

You might be better off signing up for their email spam as far as coupon codes for accessories go. They send me 10%, 15%, 20% off one item from time to time. I have a 19% off one currently.

I think ACK had their big sale on kayaks back around black friday. I remember viewing the offerings but don't remember pricing other than they had some pretty good mark downs on some of the brands. I think the higher end ones got the best markdowns.

thanks for the tip.  I'm definitely after the red/black pro 10

I noticed my local REI has them.  I'll keep an eye out.  thank you!

Now is a good time to get on a few mailing lists, including REI.  I have seen (and gotten) great deals in January.  Check all the 'local' outfits within, say, 50+ miles.   Especially, if that yak has changed for '19.  Last year's inventory is being purged right now in a lot of stores.

After calling, they said the current Prescador Pro models were released about 2-1/2 years ago, and that there is no mention of a newer model coming out any time soon.

Glad to hear they were helpful.  Love it when a company has real people answering phones and actually being of assistance!

Look fo a used one. Many, many people go gung-ho into a hobby just to drop it the next offseason. Or they are military and have to ship out or get separated and need the cash.

Craigslist, LetGo and Offer Up.

My wife and I ordered our kayaks in late December from Austin Kayak. She bought the Pescador 10 Pro, and if I recall correctly, it was $700. They were having an end of the year sale. Not a huge savings, but it basically paid for shipping.

I bought the same kayak, 2 years ago, at REI for 15% off during their annual Memorial Day sale. I believe they also have them 15% off for Presidents Day.  I've seen similar sales at Austin Kayak. Also look for local kayak demo days. They often have similar specials. Don't forgot a PFD!
