I heard underspins work well in the cold water. I have never caught anything on them. What is the best way to use these? Slow roll off the bottom? I just don’t have enough experience with these. Thanks for the help.

Slow roll is an option, but I have better luck with this presentation:

Cast and let the underspin sink to the bottom. Keep your rod steady at 10 o'clock.

Reel quickly about 5 turns, then let the lure fall straight down on slack line. DON'T

pump the rod, you want the lure fluttering straight down, not moving to you. Continue

until you feel you are "out of the zone".  100% of your strikes will occur on the fall.

If you feel ANYTHING reel down and set the hook!

They're good all year 'round.

Another way is when you see shad busting on top, put a white anything on and toss behind them bringing it through.

When you reach the edge of where you see them, kill it!!

The only way I have done well is to let them sink to the desired depth and reel them slowly as possible. Boring but very effective at times.

On sunny days with no wind I like to fish them on top of weeds that are 1 - 4 ' of water. Sorta like a finesse spinnerbait. Also great "countdown " lure.
