In the fall of this year I will be attending college on a fishing scholarship! I am so excited but one of my biggest concerns is tackle storage. I am more worried about transport from boat to dorm. Our dorm has a parking lot where I will be keeping my boat so I won't have to carry all of my tackle boxes too far. I plan to take majority of my tackle and keeping a few things back home (hour and a half away). Anyone have any ideas on something that can be used to transport tackle and also store it in my dorm? My mom recommended the big rolling suitcase type things that actresses or musicians use for makeup and stuff. I was also thinking a milk crate basket of some sort with a handle and wheels. I have a lot of tackle and most of it is stored in 3700 boxes. Any ideas for storing and transporting tackle? Thanks!

There are lots of rolling tool storage systems by dewalt and milwaukee for example. These are durable but can be expensive. If you want something cheap just buy a rolling suitcase from a thrift store.

Thanks guys! I also failed to mention I do have a big rolling toolbox like @Muha555 mentioned. It's kinda big and I'm not too sure it will fit in my dorm. I will get the layout when my fishing partner gets back on campus. If I clean out my toolbox a little I may be able to fit it all in here as long as it fits in my dorm.

=>I think some kind of modular pack out toolbox system would be best. Something with the modules small enough that they can fit in the compartments of your boat if necessary so you have to do less handling of tackle/storage boxes.

=> or bass pro makes a soft bag that can hold 8 - 3700 utility boxes. 158876D7-32D1-499A-8BC1-9E00F2651353.jpeg.160e2f6fe3c881c5ca90c92d07d8826f.jpeghttps://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-utility-box-carrier-100030964-1?hvarAID=shopping_googleproductextensions&affcode_c=&gclid=Cj0KCQiAvebhBRD5ARIsAIQUmnmReEKqlFJX6WZPG9o_xsY69mfY86M1-rrdiagBf2QVgGnU4coN4G0aArFfEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

You could just stack them on a hand truck/dolly or little red wagon haha

=> There are some really large bags such as the Cabelas advanced angler Super Magnum bag which can hold up to 12 - 3700 boxes.FF0728E9-90F3-4C04-A306-2BF000ADAAB2.thumb.jpeg.d200b083c00c9495577708a9fc023a76.jpeg

The Cabelas bags are great but if if you can swing it the good old Pelican case is the gold standard for easy, secure gear storage.

Plus you can cover them in stickers.

Husky makes some totes that are rigid plastic, pullout handle with wheels. We use these on wildfires for transporting gear hard to beat.
