rtwvumtneer6 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 I found this crank digging through some old stuff. Anyone able to help with ID? Looks like hooks are a #6, and it has rattle that sounds like a few BBs. Reminds me of a faint Rat-L-Trap. Not 100% sure how I acquired it, but it could go back as far as my grandfather. No markings on it, but it reminds me of Rapala. Any ideas? 1 Quote
Super User Munkin Posted January 12, 2019 Super User Posted January 12, 2019 Bomber or some sort of knockoff. Allen 1 Quote

Allen Some of the older ones did, especially the "Bill Dance" labeled versions. The only other option I can think of that it might be is an old K-Mart generic that was sold labeled as "Mister Twister," but they copied the same photoprint finish as the Bombers (see last pic). I have both the orange and firetiger baits above but have never seen one with a painted bill before. Allen 1 Quote

Allen I think the G-finish baits all had to be one color, bait and bill, because of the way they were made. Pretty certain they made a G-finish brown craw, but just giving a best guess. It does appear to have the brighter G-finish shine to it than the normal brown craw. Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted January 12, 2019 Super User Posted January 12, 2019 Looks like a good crankbait for smallmouth bass. Quote

Still remember when G-Finish was the in thing. Allen 1 Quote
pauldconyers Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Not to hijack this thread (but I will LOL) anyone know what this is? A guy at the lake gave it to me this fall and I did surprising well with it. Soft paddle tail with a metal slug insert in the head. Quote

A lot of brands make similar ones so I’m not too sure. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted January 13, 2019 Super User Posted January 13, 2019 Storm swimbait or Berkley as I am not sure. Allen Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted January 13, 2019 Super User Posted January 13, 2019 I'd also go with small Storm Swim Shad Quote

The Berkley version has a "dorsal fin". I don't think the Storm has one. Cabela's also made a "Livin' eye" swimbait that looked like the Berkley version. 1 Quote

Super User Munkin Posted January 13, 2019 Super User Posted January 13, 2019 I know enough about a lot of lures to be dangerous but not an expert in all things. Those baits I bought some of for fishing down at Chincoteague but could not remember if they were Storm or Berkley. Allen Quote
