Thank God for heated mirrors Thank god the freezing rain is south of us because we still have a few people without power. We have gotten 6 inches of snow in the last 5 hours, the wind is blowing pretty good so nice drifts, and it’s now a snow sleet mix. Of course there is no school today and there won’t be tomorrow and possibly Thursday because this isn’t supposed to stop until mid day tomorrow. Quote

At least you get to shovel your roof, I know you missed doing it in mid-November. 1 Quote

Not so much - Fortunately we got a two-day flash melt between this and the last blow. So at least 50 % of the raw tonnage went away without human intervention. I'm good with that. Be looking for another one soon but it's not looking good. A-Jay 1 Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted February 19, 2019 Author Global Moderator Posted February 19, 2019 It’s probably hard for the southern boys to comprehend but I stepped outside this morning to get one of the dogs and thought “it’s not too cold out this morning. It wasn’t until I got in my truck did I see how cold it was. When there’s no wind at all these temps don’t feel bad at all....in moderation. 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted February 19, 2019 Super User Posted February 19, 2019 Minus 15 here this morning. While I will admit to being fairly acclimated to the bitterness, once the mercury dips below the -10 mark, my Iron Stones begin to freeze up a bit. #lama A-Jay 1 Quote

I would have to move far south and tell the family if they wanted to see me in the winter they would have to come to me. Your dogs love snow so much what do they do for fun in the summer? Chase the mailman? Quote

Chase the mailman? The pack loves to chase rabbits, dig huge holes and then eat and role in the dirt - that one makes me crazy. Before or after the heat of the day and to keep them in sledding ready shape we do this. They dig it as much as we do. A-Jay 1 Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted February 24, 2019 Super User Posted February 24, 2019 Yea- raining up here too and has been off & on all night. It's expected to mix with and then change to all snow as the air temps crash with the impending high winds (40-60 mph plus) which are a coming later this morning. Looks like we'll be donning the Kahtoola MICROspikes - Life savers when it's like this.
