Expect to lose power . . . hope it's not too long. Always blows my mind what 2 inches an hour looks like. Seems it should be 'louder' but it's actually eerily quiet. Bring it on . . .I still have plenty of reels to clean. btw - I think you're going to get more than me on this one . . Good Luck A-Jay It is crazy how eerily quiet a snow storm is. No birds, no people, no wind, just quiet....and the ringing in my ears. Friday is the big move to the lake, the weather doesn't look bad until late Friday so we should be good. Next week I'm hoping the weatherman is dead wrong. Heavy wet snow = no fun! 1 Quote

Yea - we have a little deal were they come in the walk-out and spend the night down stairs. We do it when it's super hot or cold. It's funny too because they know when we're bringing them in. Open that kennel door and they Bold right to walk-out. I'll post up a pic of them down there - they get pretty 'relaxed'. A-Jay 1 Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted January 20, 2019 Author Global Moderator Posted January 20, 2019 What a crazy few days! Finally got moved in at the lake house and we're pooped! Thankfully we moved Friday because we woke up to about 5 inches of the white stuff and the temps didn't get above 15 and it's currently 10. 1 Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted January 20, 2019 Super User Posted January 20, 2019 Looks like South Florida is going to get a couple days of cold weather. Looking towards to it for my long distance runs. Quote

I just updated our forecast and at 8 am it's going to be -1! The weather forecast says it might drop to the mid 40's tonight and the lows for the next week will be in the low/mid 60's in the area I live in South Florida. I prefer 40-60 degree weather for long distance running. -1 degrees is too cold to enjoy running and most hobbies. From what I read the Polar Vortex might make the northern MidWest states extremely cold for the rest of the month. Quote
Way north bass guy Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 Our temp for tonight is supposed to drop to -30C (-22F), with wind chills below -40. Today’s high is only supposed to hit -22C. At least the sun is out, maybe I’ll go sit in the greenhouse where the temp will get up to 90 deg. this afternoon with my eyes closed and pretend it’s summer ?. 1 1 Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted January 21, 2019 Author Global Moderator Posted January 21, 2019 Pretty darn cold right now. The wind chill is -22 right now. The area schools closed because it's so cold the busses can't stay warm enough inside and it's way too dangerous for the kids to stand outside and wait for the bus. 1 Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted January 22, 2019 Super User Posted January 22, 2019 It was in the mid 40's this morning which is considered cold for South Florida. Right now the temperature is in the mid 60's. Quote

Super User J Francho Posted January 22, 2019 Super User Posted January 22, 2019 Actually, I think the cold killed one of the pressure sensors. I keep them all at 38 psi in winter. Quote

My truck barely gets driven now so I'll check the tires the old fashion way, that way seemed to work for 100 plus years. Quote

Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted January 23, 2019 Author Global Moderator Posted January 23, 2019 Freezing rain yesterday afternoon for the drive home, then we got 3" inches of heavy wet snow over night, now it's 36 and raining, and tonight it's going to be 25. What a mess! Quote
