I have quick questions, I hope someone can help.

will I be able to use my charger Schumacher SC1500A to charge 12v 5ah sealed battery? What mode, 15A or 3A? Would automatic/maintenance function still work? Which connector available if I don’t want to remove battery from dry box, the unit only come with clamp type? Or should I just buy a Jr. tender?

the battery is similar to this

I guess it is required out put at 1.5a, my charger unit can do maintenance mode (3amp) which output current at 2a@6V.

The recommended charger is UPG D1724 12V (500 to 1,000 Ah) charger.

Trickle charging at  12V, 1/2 to 1 amp hour may work, 3 amps could cook your battery.

Maybe call the manufacturer.   I have Noco Genius that I use for both full size and kayak size 12v batteries.    I sent a note to the manufacturer with questions and they wrote back same day.  My Noco charger has a mode called 'Small' and it works perfectly for both charging and maintaining.    Better yet, it has paid for itself because my batteries last much longer now.  I got it from Amazon

Thanks @WRBand @ChoporozI end up with Jr. Tender charger @750ma. I was gonna buy Jr. Tender for awhile for my motorcycle (as a motorcycle owner, I’ve heard about Jr. tender more than other brand). I also monitor temperature on battery since this is my first charge.

This’s gonna be use mainly on my new float tube so I want it to be as small and as portable as possible. I don’t plan a full day trip so the 5amp should work fine.
