I live in Iowa and planning a trip to fish this lake mid April in Iowa. The weather depends here during that time 70s during day and 55 nights ROUGHLY last year it snowed a little mid April. So knowing this I’m looking at the LITTLE RIVER LAKE.  If anyone has any tips for this time of year and what to look for on this sepfic lake I would greatly appreciate it

So many variables! That's like saying...."I'm going fishing today, how do I catch 'em?" No one can answer that question, or even suggest somewhere to start, without knowing much more about the waters you are fishing, the forage base, type of lake, clarity of the water, species you are targeting and what kind of fishing you typically do, i.e.: boat fishing, trolling, deep water targets, shallow water targets, what kinds of presentations you've used in the past, etc., etc..

Sorry for not being very much help.

What he said.

Your best bet is to find a local tackle store - mom and pop type, not a big-box store like DSG, BPS, etc. Ask the shop owners about the lake/pond you plan on fishing. They're your best bet to get decent information.
