Luckily the 10% didn't come through, cause the last thing I need is 2 more reels (Supreme XTs).

I have a few of the older Trions, and they've been workhorses.

I have one of the older Trions mounted on a 6'10" HF.  It is a casting machine.  :teeth:  Thank you DVT.

The email with the code ended up in my junk folder.

Thanks for posting this. I now have two reels on the way for the grand total of $76. I think this year I’m going to fish with fewer rods but take some extra reels spooled with a bigger variety of line types and weights. I ordered two different gear ratios so I can have a slower reel for worms and jigs and a faster one for deep cranking.

Personally I would switch the reels for those techniques.

I missed out on these deals but did pick up a second president xt casting reel for $50 on Amazon.  I already have one of those and a regular supreme.  The supreme might be my favorite reel

Why is that? Why would I need a faster retrieve for worm fishing?

My reasoning is that a fast reel has a tendency to make me work them too fast, so a slower ratio helps slow me down.

I don't fish deep crankbaits, but it makes sense to me when others claim the torque advantage of a low ratio reel is advantageous with baits having that much resistance.  I don't work a worm with the reel.  I work it with the rod.  When I feel it is out of the productive area I want to get it back in quickly for another cast.  YMMV

Thanks. That makes a lot of sense.

So I jumped on the Patriarch XT for $99 during the sale...today was the first chance I had to use it and wow! What an awesome reel. Paired it with a Dobyn's Colt cranking rod and it was such a pleasure to fish. Super light, super smooth, brakes are excellent, and casts a country mile. Extremely happy with the purchase.
