I know not a lot of people use Pflueger casting reels (at least on enthusiast forums), but I've enjoyed the ones I have.  If you are looking into getting into baitcast reels without spending much, then I would suggest the Supreme XT.  Or if you just want another good baitcast reel at a super low price there are several here that fit the bill.

EDIT:  Free shipping over $50.  I am talking over 50% off some reels.

Awesome, thanks. A Supreme XT is headed my way for $60. Score!

(Was hoping I would see a lefty Patriarch on sale, but no dice.)

My brother has the Patriarch XT righty. Fantastic reel. Casts great. Supreme XT lefty on the way for me too. Sweet!

Now you are just trying to make me feel bad.  I didn't realize I could get another 10% off.  Maybe I should order another couple reels.  :teeth:

I have 3 of the older blue models.  Not only nice looking, but performance is very good.  The one set up with 40# braid that I use mostly for casting unweighted 10" ribbontail worms has about the lowest brake setting of any of my reels.

I fell into a crazy lot of new, older, righty reels several months ago. Amongst them was an earlier model Patriarch XT. It has the thru-frame thumb screw to lock the removable sideplate. The same as yours maybe? Circa 2013? It went to my brother eventually. He has a Curado K, purchased new, and a Chronarch 200E7 from that crazy lot. Loves em both. He loves the Patriarch XT equally as much. He always comments on how fantastic the braking system works and it's casting. I agree. We share rods on the boat. A hidden gem for sure.

Don't overlook the regular Supreme. I have one on my deep cranking rod and it's a nice reel, and a steal for $40.

I wish they had a 5:1 left hand retrieve listed. I would have liked to try one. Instead I picked up a Supreme XT in the 7:1 on an impulse buy.  I am kind of excited to try my first Pflueger baitcaster. I don’t hear much about them but when I do, it’s always about how underrated they are.

Wow.  Those are some good deals. If I didn't just buy two more reels, I would jump right on it.

That is one frustrating thing about them. A friend of mine has been waiting for them to release a couple of different models in lefty versions and it just hasn't happened.

Dang. When I clicked on the link, a box popped up mentioning this. I just closed it out. I then created an account and joined their email, but didn't get any kind of email with a 10% off code or anything. And when I add a product to my cart it doesn't show either. Maybe I'll call them tomorrow. Hopefully the sale is still going on.

Check your spam folder. The welcome email to me from Plueger contained the code.

Thanks. I checked that last night when I signed up, and again this morning. Nothing.

Well, I didn't wanna risk the sale ending tonight, so I pulled the trigger w/o the discount code.

Have never tried a Pflueger casting reel before, but decided on the Patriarch XT. $100 for a $250 reel, why not? Read a lot of good things about it. Didn't really need another reel right now (especially considering I've been debating on getting the Curado DC).

So with that said, to the OP, I don't know whether to thank you or to curse you. ;)

Since when does that stop anyone from jumping on a great deal?  :D

Didn't let it stop me and I've already got way too many reels.

The email with the code ended up in my junk folder.

Thanks for posting this. I now have two reels on the way for the grand total of $76. I think this year I’m going to fish with fewer rods but take some extra reels spooled with a bigger variety of line types and weights. I ordered two different gear ratios so I can have a slower reel for worms and jigs and a faster one for deep cranking.

Luckily the 10% didn't come through, cause the last thing I need is 2 more reels (Supreme XTs).

I have a few of the older Trions, and they've been workhorses.

For some unknown reason, I suddenly feel the urge to believe that you are a super cool human being that I should emulate.

My two reels arrived today. They feel super slick and the build quality seems excellent. Both were made in Korea, which is probably a step up from made in China. I’m looking forward to trying them out in a couple of weeks.

My two arrived Wednesday.  I think the spools spin a littler freer on these reels, than on several of my other reels.  Gonna be awhile before I can try them out.

I got my Supreme XT Thursday.  I was able to spool it up and play with it in the front yard this morning.  My first impression upon opening the box was that the reel isn't the most compact thing I have ever held.  However, it feels light.  With 2 brakes on and 4 off, the reel chucks a half ounce casting plug pretty far with little effort.  Also, when I put it on a rod, the reel still felt comfortable in the palm.  I like it.  I like it as much as much as my Casitas, Fuego CT, and my Tatula CT.  It reaches the limits of my accuracy with as little or less effort.  Next step will be to get it on the water.
