Ersteman Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Looking to make a reel purchase on an older Curado, but need to know the difference between the Shimano Curado 200PG and the 200IPG? I know you guys will know. thanks! Quote
Ersteman Posted January 4, 2019 Author Posted January 4, 2019 Amazon has the 200IPG as RH. I'm beginning to think there is a typo in the Amazon listing and that the CU201 PG is the Lefty one. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 5, 2019 Global Moderator Posted January 5, 2019 IPG is a 6 ratio and PG is a 5 ratio I believe. In Shimano reels they're right handed if they end in a 0, left handed if they in a 1. So a 200 is a righty, 201 is a lefty. Quote

Newer platform is K. The I was a great reel. I have the Japanese counterpart, the Scorpion 200. Guys using the K say they are better. Slightly more compact and newer brake system. Quote
Super User JustJames Posted January 5, 2019 Super User Posted January 5, 2019 I think they are the same some site would add “I” as indicated to “I” version of curado. The PG is for slower gear ratio 5, 200(i) for 6 and HG is for 7 also XG is 8 gear ratio. Quote
