I never understood the people who dislike it and think it's a dink fest. I think they got too accustomed to half hour shows that were filmed over days and only show their best catches. Pretty much this ^^ If you look at the results from the first Costa even on Lake Amistad TX, you'll see the average bass caught (801 weighed in) was just 1.9 pounds, 86% of the field each day couldn't even break 10 pounds, and only 3 guys were able to cash a check (130 guys entered) with a 3 pound average or better per bass. By focusing only on the top few guys every day of an event, you get a skewed picture of what is really being caught across the entire field. Most pros are catching and weighing in smaller bass most of the time. Since there are only a handful of guys competing on any given day in MLF, you see these very normal catches across the whole field that normally never make or get coverage in a traditional BASS or FLW event, though they happen all the time. 2 Quote
MSWV Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 MLF is as real as it gets.. Everyone trys to catch as many as they can on a given day! Also, some of my best days on the water came by result of the "bent rod pattern".. "Lets go see what Strader is doing", so this is real life to me.. haha 1 1 Quote
hoosierbass07 Posted January 14, 2019 Posted January 14, 2019 Not a bad second episode to the season! Really enjoy watching Randy Howell. Quote

Something to the tune of 'Bass go after buzz baits because they think they're baby bass boats, and try and get them before they grow up' ?? 1 Quote
Hawkeye21 Posted January 14, 2019 Posted January 14, 2019 Another great episode. I love seeing how these guys figure things out when the fishing is tough. I learn a lot from watching them. Quote
riverbasser Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 Just realized they must of let Marty Stone go. Wonder why his interviews and commentary werent terrible. They should at least have someone interacting with the guys during breaks and etc. Quote

Teaming up to call the action for the five-hour daily live-streaming broadcast will be Marty Stone, a veteran MLF anaylst and former pro angler, former FLW Tour pro and MLF Selects angler JT Kenney, outdoors writer Rob Newell, college sports announcer Chad McKee and social media personality Natalie Dillon. The inaugural BPT season begins Jan. 29 in Kissimmee, Fla. with MLF NOW! originating from MajorLeagueFishing.com." Landis Carrier Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 Love the MLF! Even my non fishing girlfriend watches it! MLF All Angles is great too....when the pros really explain what they used, how they fished it and the equipment they used. I also kind kind of like when a pro has a bad day.....makes me feel better about all of my “bad days”! Ha! Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted January 16, 2019 Global Moderator Posted January 16, 2019 I thought I read that Marty Stone will be doing the MLF, while the others will be doing the BPT. Quote
Rpratt Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 Marty Stone and the others usually only do the commentating when the select rounds are done. Quote

That’s the biggest miss so far but I’m sure with his contracts and other shows he has more To think about than all of those guys. 1 Quote
Hawkeye21 Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Wow, that was a tough day of fishing for the MLF guys this week. The big bass, even though very few, were what won. I guess that goes against the nothing but small bass argument. Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted January 24, 2019 Global Moderator Posted January 24, 2019 I can’t figure out how to watch it . Clicked on a link for majorleaguefishing.com in another thread and found everything but video. I still have only seen one episode of major league fishing in my life, and that’s when I was at my moms house and got lucky to find it on her tv. She gets hardly any channels and I get hundreds Quote

Kevin Goodwin Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 I'm a little confused about the nomenclature. Does "Stage 2" mean the same thing as "Day 2"? So "Stage 2" would be "Day 2 Shotgun Round 2 Group B" and "Stage 3" would be "Day 3 Elimination Round 1 Group A"? They need to teach a course at the local community college on this stuff... Quote

Stages are the different events/tournaments. Stage 1 was at Kississimee and Stage 2 is going on right now at Lake Conroe. Each Stage is 6 days. The first 2 days are Shotgun rounds, the next two days are elimination rounds, the 5th day is the knockout round and the 6th day is the Championship round. 1 Quote

Each individual day is divided into three fishing periods with a break between them. I assume the reason they start the live feed at 10 am local time is to have enough material from period 1 to perform commentary and it is the time the second period starts. 1 Quote

I think starting at the very beginning is also a really long time to be live streaming. There's a ton of stuff that goes into producing a live event like that, especially that long. Quote
