fishn bear Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 With gas price going up very day I have been fishing a lot more close to my house in my jon boat and not make the loner trips and running my bass boat. In my jon I am running a 12v trolling motor and only have room for 1 battery. Any suggestions on a battery that will hold up to an all day fishin trip. Im running a cheap walmart battey right now and it just want last all day. Quote

You will not be able to mount enough solar panels on your canoe to make any difference to your run time. Quote

Super User Jig Man Posted April 5, 2008 Super User Posted April 5, 2008 The main thing to look for in tmotor batteries is reserve amps. That is the number one factor in how long a battery will last. You will probably have to go to a marine dealer to get high reserve amps. You should get at least 185 and 200 if possible. Don't settle for 140s or 160s if you don't want to paddle. Quote
