Not to be a stickler or anything, but the package says it's a 1/4 oz :P I get your point though. The 3" used to be a very common size available in multiple weights and colors many, many years ago, then they really pared down their selection. I used it a lot in the spring as a finesse type spinnerbait and did well on it. Good to see they are bringing it back to a degree, though I'm convinced they changed the original mold some, and have certainly limited color and blade options in the newer lineup.

Yes I'm aware of that ?

Down here we have Johnson, H&H, Betts, Cajun Lures, Berkley, & you can buy all the components necessary to build your own all at our local Walmart.

Many rivers & bayous are off colored & these little spinnerbaits are killer!

I still have one of those old style 3/8th ounce lures . The body was bigger and the jig head was different .I  used them a lot and caught some real nice fish with them . They had a crawdad color that i used the most . If they would bring them back I'd buy a dozen today .

Exactly - not the same as now. The only change I made to the old ones was to put a matching Sampo bearing on in place of the crane swivel. Made for a great late winter/early spring spinner.

I have an older 3/8 grape colored one also, I've never used. Virgil Wards spinner

This has worked for me in stained water. Mine is black/blue. You can reel it extremely slow. If you like willow leaf, I'd use a light spinnerbait so you have to reel it slowly to keep it down.

Interested

I have like 50-60 of these and could use some of those football wobblehead jigheads. Will send hooks I just wanted to try some before I bought the mold.

Yes Catt you should. Every time we get to talkin about these old baits, I get fired up about throwing them again. This spring, I'm packing some Beetlespins.

Why not. You need something to do in your spare time.

They were - Chuck Wood designed the Beetle and Beetle spin (and the Puddle Jumper) and is considered the grandfather of Midwest finesse.
