So lets just call it an 8 pounder ? LOL. I lost count of meeting people who caught ''8,9,10 or more pounders'' just to see a picture of a bass that is under 24 inches with not much girth. I just smile and tell them they caught a nice fish and walk away letting them believe what they caught is a trophy bass. That is why it is best to weight the fish on a decent quality scale or at the very least get a length and girth measurement for a close estimate. There will always be doubts on the size of a bass if a person does not get good measurements. 6 hours ago, stratoliner92 said: One trick is cut 2 pieces of fishing line for length and girth and use formula @soflabasser gave you. I'd guess #4.5-5.25 Thank you @stratoliner92. The bass in your avatar is the type of bass I like to fish for. The line measuring technique you mentioned is very good and every bass fisherman has fishing line so there should be no excuse when it comes to getting the length and girth measurements. 1 Quote

Knowing you are even taller than I thought just makes the fish bigger, so it is a no doubt 5 lb in my opinion. Congratulations again. Thanks so much! Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 30, 2018 Global Moderator Posted December 30, 2018 I'd guess around 4.5, time to buy a scale! 1 Quote
kenmitch Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 Nice fish! I'd guess it's around a 5lb'r. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 31, 2018 Super User Posted December 31, 2018 Looks like a Conesus bass - Big body small mouth. Means it is well fed and grew fast. You can safely call it a 4.5. Get a decent scale! 1 Quote

Hopefully that makes it a good 5? thanks for the input! Just say you're 6'5" in the picture. That'll make the fish 7 lb. easy. Seriously though, 4-4.5 lber for sure 1 Quote
Super User Darren. Posted December 31, 2018 Super User Posted December 31, 2018 Welcome aboard! I'm with those guessing in the 5 pound range. Very nice catch, Aiden. Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted January 12, 2019 Super User Posted January 12, 2019 I gotta go around 5 . Nice fish dude. Quote
Backroad Angler Posted January 14, 2019 Posted January 14, 2019 Either a little under 5 or right at it! Nice fish man Quote
FCPhil Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 I would say 4-5 pounds but fish always look smaller in pictures than in person so I’ll say just over 5 pounds. Nice catch! Quote
Sooner Steve Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Nice bass, I'd say a decent upper 5lb fish. If it is 6, it's right at 6, but its certainly in the mid 5 range. 1 Quote
rod snapper Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 nice fish by the way(21lber) but i suggest keeping a tiny tape measure in your pocket when fishing(which is always). Quote
