Which one has the advantage in sensitivity. I know they both have big fan bases but looking for opinions from people that have fished both. I’m looking at the glx 822 dsr and the 6’10” legend elite es610mlxf. Found a decent deal on the glx and a good price on the legend elite. Was a rod that is going to have great sensitivity? Being paired with the ci4+

Dude there’s no bad choice here, you’re looking at two top tier sticks. This choice is really down to your personal preferences on the cosmetics and components. Think on it this way, a couple weeks after you get the rod which one are you going to look back and wish you had gotten?

I recall all you posting before liking your Loomis rods and having a preference for them. I’d follow your gut and experience of what you like.

I've tried both and own a GLX'S.......there is no wrong decision.  The GLX just felt better in hand

I can´t tell you anything about the Legend Elite because i´ve never tried one, unfortunately. However, just recently, i´ve had a relative borrowing me is GLX 822 DSR for a couple days, verdict? I´m buying one for myself! Awesome rod...

My personal opinion for what it is worth.  I own and fish NRX's and Elites.  The Elites strike me as the better value, while the NRX impresses me slight more with its ability to transmit vibration.

I definately prefer loomis Rods but was trying to keep open minded here as I wanted to see what else I might be worth it. I only have the 1 st. Croix and have only fished 2 st. Croix and both good sticks but definately didn’t balance or feel as sensitive as the loomis Rods I have or have fished. Hear great things with the legend elites and there a nice feeling rod for sure!

So you find the nrx more sensitive, so I’m curious as to how the glx feels. Regardless your happy with the elites preformance for the value and sensitivity? It’s going be my main finesse rod

I use it mine all the time, I use the ES610MLXF  I find it to be one of the better St. Croix spinning rods, I also own the same rod in the LTB.

Thank you everyone. The rod will be used for drop shot, Ned rig, and senko’s mainly.

I have the same Croix rod paired with a Ci4+, sweet stick. One of the rods I wouldnt give up, but I would be open to having that and a Loomis at the same time. The GLX that I have picked up while at work, seem lighter both in terms of weight and in how lure weight that it could handle. I can't imagine much being more sensitive than the Croix, however Loomis would be able to do it if  that could be done.

Which loomis did you pick up?

When I say picked up I mean like messed around with and put reels on. I have not purchased any of them. But, to answer your question, just about all of them. The IMX pro, GLX, and NRX. All of them were the 6'10" mag-light and mag medium. The GLX felt the best too me out of all of them.

Thanks, went out today to see if I could get my hands on them but didn’t have all the luck. I was able to handle the 6’10 medium light legend Xtreme and a 6’8 legend elite, and 7’ legend elite next too the imx pro 822 dsr, glx 892, glx 802 and glx 803. I really wish they had the glx 822 and the 6’10 legend elite cause I hated the handle on the legend Xtreme but the stick felt good, the 7’ legend elite was the right action and tip heavy a little, 6’8 felt like it would make a great little jerkbait rod.

and the imx pro 822 felt great and so did the glx 802 so I imagine the glx 822 would feel great as well.

Just a thought that I had, might be something to consider or perhaps you already have.   Loomis and St. Croix rods, load very differently in similar powers and actions.    Each has their own merits.

Yes I have. I feel that the loomis rods are a little underrated as far as lure weight goes for each particular rod. Also find them slightly lighter and better balanced in general. I feel the st.croix blanks generally are on the stronger side and heavier compared to there ratings. So a medium from st. Croix tends to feel like a heavy medium or a lighter medium-heavy. But I also don’t fish st. Croix and only have 1 rod for myself and 3 of there rods I fish on a fairly regular

Thanks everyone I think I have settled on the glx 822s dsr. I’m suppose to be swinging close by the store tomorrow afternoon or Monday afternoon so I’ll most likely grab it then.

Thank you everyone for your help! Can’t wait to try it out this spring! Now just have to figure 1 more rod to cover the remaining of the finesse unless my 852c will take care of it. Tubes, flukes, senko’s, Ned, Neko so forth

The rod felt great! Don’t get me wrong just felt a little tip heavy to me. Now I was bouncing back and forth so much between Rods I could possibly be mistaken it for something else. I would like a second spinning rod to cover the remaining of my spinning tackle/techniques. And I’m debatjng between a 7’ or something a smidge longer 7’4 range. What do you like to throw on that particular rod?

I have a 7 ft medium power fast action legend elite spinning rod and it’s my favorite all purpose rod. I mainly use this rod for bottom contact baits but it works just fine for wacky rigging,Ned rigging, drop shotting as well It’s very sensitive and perfectly balanced with my Stradic ci4. I love this combo so much I’m buying the medium heavy version this spring.

Perfect! Well I would like one more set up and figured I should get between 7’ and 7’6”. I figured the 822 dsr would take care of drop shots and hopefully ned rigs, my 852c will cover shakey heads, small soft jerkbaits and maybe try spybaits. I’m thinking the 7’-7’6” for tubes, wacky worms and such in the deeper water.

Well you probably have your new favorite spinning combo. I will never purchase a different spinning reel, or so I tell myself.
