When do new reels generally hit popular stores?

I received several Cabelas giftcards for Christmas, and have had my eye on a Shimano SLX reel for a little while now, but Cabelas doesn't carry them yet. Does anyone have any ideas when they might?

Seeing how Bass Pro shops has them online I'd imagine Cablelas will follow soon.

I saw some at my local  cabelas the other day.

     The righties are in stock at TW. Go to Cabelas, cash in the gift cards. Go buy the 10% off gift card at TW save the ten bucks you burned in gas going to Cabelas. Get your SLX for 90 bucks and 2nd day air it for 5 bucks extra or just heck go fed ex overnight for 10. You'll have either your SLX150XG 8.2:1 or SLX150 6.3:1 by Friday. Sorry they are sold out of the SLX150HG 7.3:1 righties. Lefties are supposed to be in stock Jan. 1. 

     All humor aside. I'd love to hear how you like that reel.

You can do that? Most gift cards say they can not be exchanged for cash... did I read your post wrong?

Not sure on that RatherB. They should, they sold it for cash. Might have to do some research to make sure.

Not necessarily.  I can buy any number of gift cards using credit.

Amercanlegacy has the combo on sale for $129.99 currently.

 

Guess you'd have to find other use for the gift cards.
